Waitrose had put their 2.27 litres (4 pints) up to £1.40 over a week ago when everyone else around here was still £1.25. hate to think what it is now.Lidl locally was £1.29 yesterday for the 2.27 litres.Wish we had a farm delivery, I would go for that too!0

I'm now paying £2 for 2x2L of Graham's at my local ScotMid.
Grabbed strawberries from my local butcher this morning. He operates like an old corner shop with staple cupboard items, plus his meat counter (ask for things and he'll try and get them), everything is prepared in his shop and special offer seasonal items.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1

When I was a student in the late 50s I had a part time job at a dairy and remember that milk cost 8d a pint. Petrol cost about 5 shillings a gallon [just under 8d a pint] about 6p a litre. I think Petrol went down slightly so milk and petrol cost the same at 5p a litre. This may not be true but it is what I remember [faction]. I had a voucher for 5p a litre off at a supermarket recently and the cashier couldn't believe that would have made it free when I was lad. Anybody able to check this out?0

Still £1.40 so if they are offering me a voucher for 50p off (just checked, they are) that seems to be my best optionflossy_splodge said:Waitrose had put their 2.27 litres (4 pints) up to £1.40 over a week ago when everyone else around here was still £1.25. hate to think what it is now.0

I buy M*rks 4 pint organic English semi-skimmed milk and at the moment that costs £1.85 in my town centre branch and 1kg of their own brand fat free greek style yoghurt is £1.70.
For emergencies/being off colour etc. I also keep a tin of milk powder in my larder and this one Nido 400g has a MrT's cc price of £3.50 until the 21st June.1

We would be except most of the fish in UK waters is oily fish and shellfish and the overwhelming demand here is for white fish and salmon.MACKEM99 said:Seems strange to me that we are an island and are short of fish??
Honestly some of the best fish you can eat are fresh Cornish sardines but all Tesco want to sell you us some Russian cod or Swedish salmon.1

I don't know where you've been shopping as even in Sweden most of the Salmon comes from Norway or Scotland. Atlantic Cod will come from Iceland, Faroes and Norway plus some from Scotland.TipsyNurse said:

Lots of the frozen items are Alaskan Pollock or Vietnamese Catfish (Basa/River Cobbler)0
