Still £1.25 for 4 pints at Poundland and Waitrose customers can get a 50p off voucher most weeks from their account to apply against their £1.50 version.
Poundland now £1.50 which is a 50% rise since the start of this thread (3 months).

Prize for milk price rip-off of the year goes to Morrisons. I regularly buy 1 litre of Cravendale semi-skimmed and was gobsmacked to see them offering it for £1.85, it's £1.45 everywhere else including Sainsbury, Tesco and Asda. No doubt in a couple of weeks Morrisons will market it with a big "reduction" down to a bargain £1.45. I've lost faith in Morrisons when a staple like this is so massively overpriced compared to rivals. I go elsewhere now.

Happy with my 4pts for £0.51 at Tesco Today, obviously put the wrong milk in the Yellow Sticker section - still has 4 days to go before best before date.   Unfortunately the freezer is full so I couldn't take extra for there.
  • OK - here is the farmer price (I am assuming and very happy to be corrected that ppl = price per litre); can you also factor in that farmer has to feed their cows, water their cows, vet their cows etc:

    • The UK average milk price for June 2022 was announced by Defra as being 42.66ppl, up 2.34ppl (5.8%) on the previous month

If you want to be pedantic, ppl = pence per litre, but yes  :)

This is only part of the story though, as supermarkets can't sell milk directly from the farm.  It first has to be processed (standardised for % fat, pasteurised, in most cases homogenised...) and that is very energy intensive.

I've just been to Aldi and bought our usual 4pt of semi and 4pt of skimmed and noticed both are now £1.55. That's another +10p.   No doubt Tesco and others will increase their milk prices again as well.
