We buy frozen tesco sweetcorn every 4 weeks or so.

The price had been one pound for about a year.
Today it was  ONE Pound and 50p

    50% mark up

Heinz soup £1.40; supermarket own brand 55p.
Heinz beans £1 (or more), supermarket own brand 27p

But branded goods everywhere on supermarket shelves. Cost of living "crisis"?, not really but things are more expensive yes. But then if you have always been a canny shopper you cope, you get on with it, you adapt.
Re Heinz - they have stopped supply to Tesco because of price disagreements.

We have online Tesco since Covid and have started going to the shops again off-peak but we buy their beans and soups and sauces and salad cream ever since I can remember.
    :(
Guys can we please keep on topic of milk prices. Maybe more appropriate to start a new thread. Thank you x

    Really useful thread, thanks all.

Just so you know, I've moved a few comments to the Groceries price hike thread where I think they're better suited:

Own-brand filtered milk was up to £1.80 in Waitrose this week. But I had a 50p off coupon in MyWaitrose so was still cheapest filtered milk then at £1.30 for 2 litres.

Aldi have now joined them at £1.45 for 4 pints (semi skimmed)
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)

Tesco at £1.45 now with one of their ‘Price matched to Aldi’ labels on the shelf. Perhaps more appropriate would be one saying ‘We put the price up first, Aldi have followed us now’.

    Lidl also £1.45

Can definitely see and feel the price increases these past months.  Our 4 pint/2.272l milk moving upwards from £1.09, to £1.15, to £1.25 and now £1.45.  I do wonder if supermarkets are testing the customer tolerance levels to the size of the increases.

Still £1.25 for 4 pints at Poundland and Waitrose customers can get a 50p off voucher most weeks from their account to apply against their £1.50

    Essential British Free Range

My yoghurt in Asda was 80p a couple of days ago. 95 today. Bit of a jump.

Lactose free milk in Lidl has been 85p for ages.  Last couple of weeks it has jumped to £1.05
