    Who cares ?
People look at what the volume of jam is in a jar, and the number of sausages in a pack, not how much they weigh.
I can't believe with everything that's going on in the world today, that our government seriosuly considers this an issue to be wasting any trime on at all.,...
    Totally agree...

I'm in my 70s and I was so happy when we switched to the metric system. It's SO much easier to work with. I remember at school having to learn that stupid Imperial system. It just didn't make any sense whereas things divided into and by 10 is so much easier. I love that 'continental rubbish'. My daughter is in her 50s and she's never known anything but decimalisation. It makes far more sense.
I agree the metric system makes much more sense.
I can understand the old imperial system (in weights) only because my first job was in bakery and the baker I worked with worked in Ib/oz but all knew kilo's. We had some friction when we started working together, he was to stubborn to change so me learning the conversions did me a favour to a degree over the year's (usually when an member of the older generation is in the room and they can't do a conversion or when a question on a TV quiz show is asked).

Apparently we're going to bring back the good old British pint!
No more of that continental litres rubbish.
Hoorah! I'm tired of asking for a .56 of litre of beer when I walk up to the bar

I can still get 2 litres of (Cornish) milk for £1 from my local Poundland.

Not sure for how much longer
It's just gone up to £1.25.

Milk has always been available in 1 pint, 2 pint and 4 pint sizes. Not all supermarkets do all sizes in all types of milk. Same if you wish to buy in litres though. You're just being prejudiced.

Like most things with Europe the UK ended up half in and half out when it came to metrification.

Why it gets people so excited is beyond me.

As for milk, I buy 2 litres of filtered semi-skimmed and it currently costs £1.50. Still cheap in my book.

I'm not having any of this "pints" rubbish. I just go in to Tesco and get my regular 2.272 litres of homogenised cow juice. Only now it costs £4.99 instead of £1 like it's been for the past 4 years. I blame that Starmer bloke for starting the war in Ukraine.
