Transfer to new Gas & Electricity
It is so annoying when you move to a new supplier and you pay your 1st direct debit with your new supplier. Then a bill comes in from your old supplier for more than your original direct debit it puts you off switching - because you have another bill to pay!! When you are robbing peter to pay paul it is hard

Fixed Price Tarriff Ending and Moving
Hi I am real novice when it comes to fixing energy prices but I did do it around 18 months ago and it's coming to an end in September. Problem is I am in contract negotiations to move. Can you fix your energy and take it with you or am I better waiting until I move? I've no idea. Many thanks for any pointers.

Think credits due, as we all b**ch about them The fourth quarterly energy complaints league table, published today by Consumer Focus, shows a decrease in complaints about five of the ‘Big Six’ suppliers, with EDF the only firm which has seen an increase…

A couple of queries to Eon rep please?
Hi, 1st one is I read my electricity meter, as asked to by Eon via an email reminder, ready for our quarterly bill. We have always provided actual readings. Shortly after I'd paid the bill, someone came to read the meter?? I said I had paid the bill, and the reply was: "Don't worry, we often do this." Now I feel as though…

'free' boiler??
Hi. I seem to be the spokesperson for the whole road these days, but well............. Okay, here we go. A neighbour had some 'cavity wall insulation' done a while back by 'Warm Front' and apparently the person who put it in said that if their boiler broke (which I think is an old one) then they'd be eligible for a free…

After a long battle with npower i finally managed to sort out all:) I live in a one bed flat. The block is just under ten years old. the question is who is responsible for connecting all the meters into the relevant flats? Changing from prepay to credit meters?
The other half has prepay meters for both gas & electric with British Gas. With not getting the benefits of the online deals available with credit meters we looked into having the meters changed to credit meters. I understand that with B/gas you don’t have to pay for the meters even if you change supplier shortly after…

Can't afford to run Electric Storage Heaters
Hi, My mum applied last year for central heating to be fitted in her rented flat as she has electric storage heaters which she cannot afford to run, however with the whole benefits system changing in April 2011, she has just been told that she is no longer entitled to it as she is on incap rather than esa. DWP have…

Just had a look at some of the comparison sites (as I have always done). I have only 3 choices that are cheaper than the EDF standard rate which I have just been moved on to. However two are still EDF (one is the fixed rate )and the prices per unit appears to be more expensive as well as the daily charge than the standard…

Big Leap in Gas and Electric Direct Debit
I have been on a duel fuel tariff with Npower since we moved into our house in May 2010. Initially we were paying as we received the bills but couldn't keep up so started paying by direct debit in November 2010. I was told it would be £90 per month (£50 for electricity and £40 for gas) and that this also included my…

Why would the electric board put my meter in a field ?
I had a new mains supply fitted to my stable yard and for some reason they put the meter in a housing across a field rather than in the haybarn with the fuse box etc. The problem is that I'm always getting cards left saying they can't access the property to read the meter so everytime we get a card left we ring to advise…

Npower Sign-Online 23 vs Eon SaveOnline 9
Hi Guys, I've been on a few comparison sites to see which tariff I should switch to when my current SaveOnline 2 expires on the 31 August. Its between Npower SO23 and Eon SO9, being £146 and £159 more expensive than my current annual cost respectively. So that's potentially Npower being £13 cheaper, but I also need to…
