EOS sending letters for debt that isn't recognised but would be well over 10 years old, which letter
Hi, my husband has had a couple of letters from an EOS Solutions. Initially we ignored them as thought they were a scam. However the most recent one says they may refer to their legal partners. The 'debt' is £1,666 so no small amount. Husband doesn't recall this but in any event we have been together ten years so would…

Debt management plan defaults
Hi all. Does anyone know whether there is a period of time post default/arrears on the credit record where the impact becomes better? I know it takes 5/6 years to come off the record, but does the negative impact reduce at all if even 6 or 12 months have passed? Just trying to time when to submit a new application.

ClearScore / Equifax - Negative impact from credit card withdrawals abroad (e.g. Halifax Clarity)
ClearScore recently notified me they'd be viewing credit card withdrawals negatively on credit reports. I can understand this in principle - you generally shouldn't borrow cash from a credit card. However, credit cards like Halifax Clarity provide near-perfect exchange rates and fee-free cash withdrawals globally. It's…

Challenger Banks and Credit Ratings
I banked with Halifax for many years and, during that time, my credit score (yeah I know - as provided by Experian etc but let's forget about that for now) was always healthy and, on the odd occasion I needed a new credit card, there were a plethora of options open to me. I have no debt whatsoever, never have. A couple of…
