Is there a way to get a free Experian credit report more frequently than monthly?

I regularly check my credit reports to ensure that there are no mistakes or evidence of fraudulent credit applications. Clearscore and Credit Karma update every week but the MSE credit club only updates monthly. This means it could be several weeks before I became aware of adverse activity or even accounts being opened in my name.

Is there any way of accessing my Experian credit report more frequently without paying a subscription for it?

I did once request my statutory credit report from Experian but this took over a week for the access code to arrive in the post. It also feels like overkill to be requesting my statutory report every week. I am probably being over cautious but it would be so much better if MSE updated my report every week.

All these agencies are around 6 weeks behind updating your report due to the time lenders and others report changes to your file so there wouldn't be any point updating shorter than a months frequency for Experian etc. However they all offer a further subscription to some sort of application monitoring which is what you're referring too. I'm not aware of any of them providing it for free.   

I use check my file as it pulls all 4 agencies data with 1 subscription instead of 4, everything in one place. It's quite interesting what appears on one report and not on another for no good reason. Baffling sometimes, how can you be on electoral role with 2 of them but other other two.
