Hello Forumites,

I was checking my credit file (ClearScore) and there is a new loan account showing that I was not expecting.
It identifies as "MITSUBISHI HC CAPITAL UK PLC NOVUNA (I)".

Looking at the details, I wonder whether this is a re-brand for Hitachi Capital who were the buy-now-pay-later finance house used by Bensons for Beds.  It all kind of looks like that is what it is. 
If so, I can do nothing.
If not so, I'll need to enquire further.

Is there anyone here that is knowledgeable on this?

OK - I was a bit silly and an internet search found me the answer:

"Mitsubishi UFJ Lease & Hitachi Capital have decided to merge our businesses into a new company: Mitsubishi HC Capital Inc."

Rather than delete the thread, I will leave it here as others will likely see a similar change on the credit report files.

And you can all take a wry smile at my foolishness and haste in starting the thread in the first place

I have the same thing on my latest Clearscore credit report where it says the following.

What does this mean?

This means that you closed an account. Maybe you changed your phone contract so the phone loan was removed from your report.

This loan was originally from Hitachi and was repaid several years ago. I do recall it changing name a few years back and this week it has fallen off the closed account section.

I agree, always leave the message intact, don't remove or delete it because there will hundreds of others that will benefit from your post, these things are applicable to everyone in the grander scheme of things.
