Securing guaranteed limit on 0% payment card in advance
Have two CCs, modest limit (total ~9k). With the exception of when I first got one of my cards years ago, I've never utilised 0% purchase periods. I clear the balance every month. My CCs are 8 and 6 years old, hence not used to applying and the ins and outs. Considering big purchases and/or stoozing ahead and wondering if…

Paying Off Balance Effect
Hi, I wanted to ask a question regarding paying off my balance and its effect on my credit score/file. If I was to pay off any purchases moments after placing it, would this make any difference compared to leaving it until the end of the month and paying it all off at once?

No fee card for spending when abroad
I recently went to Italy for a short visit and didn't really plan my trip in advance. I paid for some items in cash and some on my debit card using my phone. Having looked at my balance I've been charged a non-sterling transaction fee for each transition. I'm heading to Spain soon and would prefer to pay on my card again…

Natwest Mastercard - mortgage payments
Does anyone know if Natwest credit card treat mortgage payments as transfers/advances? I've been playing off lump sums from my mortgage with my Barclaycard Visa - no fees charged (on the credit card), cashback reward paid, sorted. (For the record Barclaycard thinks the transaction is "Services, Not Elsewhere C", and a…

Nationwide Credit Card - SOLVED
Call me an idiot (I know some will) but does anyone use Nationwide's app and understand their credit card statements? On the app and even if you download the PDF of the statement, its not really clear (and this is more than likely me not understanding) when the charges start and when they end. I pay off the card in full…

John Lewis Partnership Card - new payment plan
Has anyone else had an email from NewDay telling us that they are going to 'collect' our monthly direct debit payments FIVE days before the due date? And also that our account will be made up five days later than before. Do they think we are daft? Their terms were already worse than those ruling when HSBC ran their card.

0% purchase and transfer cards.
I’m trying to get some clarity around exactly what constitutes a ‘purchase’ on 0% purchase and transfer type cards. The ‘balance transfer’ from another card is self explanatory. But the ‘purchase’ aspect is a little more unclear in a particular scenario. The scenario being this: If I were to use this type of card to pay…

Pay penny items with credit cards. What will happen ??
I know there have been previous discussions about paying for items that cost less than 5p (let's say) with a credit card. Some merchants may not take such low-value payments. So, if you rely on a seldom-used credit card for a monthly direct debit (if needed), you might encounter issues meeting the direct debit…

CCJ Error and Issues with Credit Cards
Earlier this year I got a CCJ in error due to Aviva Car Insurance not paying someone whom I had a car accident with. They admitted the error and gave me a letter to say it was their error and £500 compensation and said it was removed from my credit reports (which is has been). The set aside is in a long delay of court…
