Forged signature?

I recently came across a credit card with my name on it that I didn't apply for.
My husband said he got it and that I was an additional card holder.
I didn't ask to be and I wasn't aware that he was applying for one either...
Does this mean that he forged my signature to get the card? Why would I have been added as a card holder if I didn't need or use the card?
Thanks

No, this is not a joint account he has just applied for a second card in your name, He is still responsible for paying the bill whichever card is used so nothing fraudulent has occurred. Just cut it up if you don’t want to use it.

I think it's rare these days for such applications to require physical signatures as things can be done online, especially if the organisation in question already knows you.

I recently applied for a credit card with my existing bank and it was all done online with a few clicks - from memory I simply had to tick a few electronic boxes to confirm that I was who I said I was and that I had read, understood and agreed to the T&Cs.

I can't recall if the application gave me the opportunity to request a second card for an additional cardholder, but if it had I suspect alI I would have had to do was enter their name, as it would still be part of my account and up to me to pay for any purchases made on it.

My husband is a card holder on one of my nationwide credit cards.  He did not have to sign anything.  Nothing illegal has happened, your husband is allowing you to use the same credit card as he uses, only one bill but two cards can use it.

Additional cardholders in principle dont have to consent to the card because it's the primary cardholder that is liable for any spending that is done on that card. Most applications are done online or over the phone and no signature from the secondary cardholder is required. Certainly some do ask the primary cardholder to confirm that they have the permission of the secondary cardholder to share their personal data but there is no validation that they're answering honestly and many people just click "I agree" without reading anyway.

As to why he'd want a card for you? Really he is in a much better place to answer it than us. The answer could depend on what card it is and what benefits it gives... some premier cards come with reasonable benefits and secondary cardholders may get the same. For example with one of our cards each cardholder gets a "free" PriorityPass for free entry into airport lounges, each cardholder can bring 1 guest. So Mrs has a secondary card so we both have free entry and both could bring in a guest each. Similarly she gets her own "status" at hotels by being a cardholder so if travelling without me still gets her free room upgrade, breakfast, drinks etc.

My wife knew what I was doing but I know a colleague didnt tell his wife when he did the same and then "surprised her" for their 20th anniversary with a holiday for the two of them and two kids using the prioritypass etc
