Barclaycard replacement

Hi, I recently experienced an unfortunate episode with a new barclaycard ordered a few weeks ago. Basically the card never arrived, instead was intercepted (by who, when, and how - honestly, I don't know), stolen and used. I discovered this on a normal afternoon when I got a sms from barclays asking me to confirm if those transactions were mine. Needless to say, I rang up them immediately and asked them to block everything. They managed to sort the refund and issue a new card.
Out of my paranoia, I decided to call them again asking if it was possible to get it delivered another way (e.g. special delivery, signed for, etc.) or pick it up from one of their branches. Their answer was "no way, but don't worry, you're safe, you'll get the card and only you will be able to activate it".
Keep in mind that, during the call I had with them the nice lady on the phone made me set a memorable word for my account.
I still have my doubts because these blokes are sending the card again via a normal letter and it seems quite risky to me because I still fear this to happen once more.
I would like to know if any of you has been in the same place previously, what are the best recommendations in similar scenarios.
Replacement card was issued last Friday (I guess?), and I was thinking of bothering them again if nothing comes up beyond Thursday.

Be vigilant, but it's their risk ultimately - not yours; so don't worry about the impact of a further card being intercepted. You might need to be a bit more patient too - Barclays cards have taken 2 weeks to arrive for me in the past. Friday will be the day the card was ordered, but it might well not have been physically produced until yesterday or today, then you're looking at second class post timescales from then.If you're enduring any financial stress, hardship or even inconvenience because of the amount of time Barclays are taking I'd encourage you to register a formal complaint.0
