Excuse for not wanting CC Payment Protection stuff
Every time I call to activate a new Credit Card I get aggressively sold payment protection stuff and anti-fraud protection stuff for the CC and get asked why I didn't want it and whether I knew what I was doing! Any good excuse to say that'll make them shuttup when they ask me? I have 2 credit cards to activate tonight…

HSBC Credit Card direct debits - minimum payment or full balance?
Hi, I recently applied for the HSBC Credit Card (12 months @ 0% on purchases) and have received the credit agreement to sign. A direct debit form is supplied, but it's not clear whether I'd be requesting to have the full balance cleared each month, or just the minimum payment. Obviously, being a tart, I've no interest in…

Credit Card in Credit
This is possibly a stupid question but there's so much I don't know when it comes to money and banks! I paid for my car insurance on my credit card, knowing I nearly had enough to pay off the balance and not wanting to spread the cost over the year with the insurer. I dutifully paid it off in one go and then when I moved…

Can I balance transfer my overdraft?
Hi, My husband spent most of 2006 out of work after being made reduntant (and is still pursuing money that is due to him for unfair dismissal). Penalty for cancelling card after interest free period expires?
Hi, I got myself a 0% for 9mths card. I use it wisely, not getting into debt etc - paying off the minimum each month as it is interest free (although I have the money to pay it off at a minutes notice). Once my 0% expires, there are no incentives to stay with that card (cashback, airmiles, etc), but will it be frowned upon…

I am hoping to advise a colleague on transferring their overdraft to a 0% CC I know we need to check the interest against the transfer fee and see if it worthwhile, but on checking the main site, the links to the super balance transfers seem to be out of date. I was going to suggest one of the MBNA banks or egg (not sure…
