Ulster Bank Visa Card

I made my 1st payment to ulster bank on 5th of June, money was out of my account on 7th of June.

Got a phone call from them saying that i have missed a payment. I explain to them that money is taken out of my bank account by you.

They said they will investigate, but while the investigation going on they are charging £12 charge for late payment fee for June and now for July.

I explain to them that they must stop charging late payment fee until their investigation is completed, as i know the money in their bank's missing account.

They said that investigation may take longer.

I am sure they will keep charging me every month.

I don't know what to do now.

    How did you pay?
Was it by direct debit? Over the phone using a debit card? or over a bank counter?

Until my DD was set up i was asked to pay by some way, and so i paid through on line banking myself. And we know now that problem was that i missed one digit from my account number. So the payment is gone to Ulster Bank's missing account. But they said that it colud take longer to locate it. Which i don't understand as they know that it is gone to their missing account. However i was told that while investigation is going on my DD will be suspended and July bill to by some ohter way. So i paid exactly the same thru on-line banking and this one has gone tru without any problem. My DD is set up again but this they will take out double the amount as they said that they are still investigating. But they keep charging £12 missing payment. They added that in my last bill and again bill which i received yesterday. They said that the computer automatic recognized missing payment and so £12 is automatically charged. They that they will refund all that charges back when they have located the money. but i am loosing interest as that money is form savings.

I overcome these potential problems by making a small payment to my new card immediately by home banking. I see this on my first statement and procede as usual with all the following payments. If the small payment does not appear on my first statement I will know there is a problem which I then have time to resolve. Fortunately up until now I have had no problems but I do know how easy it is to enter a wrong digit or even miss one completely.
