Need some help guys

Hello there. I am a student and am looking to buy a season ticket for the new season for Southampton FC. I have heard about the premiership barclaycard. The problem is that the credit card can only be used for people above the age of 21. My question is how exactly does this credit card work? As I have never had one before I am a bit confused. I do not have enough funds at the moment to afford a one off payment for a season ticket, would this card allow me to pay for the card in installments over a period of time? Thanks in advance for the help.

I can't answer this question and would guess those who can are probably in bed right now. Try looking tomorrow, I'm sure there'll be some useful replies.

according to the website it says
you must be 21 or over
    not available to students
need income of at least 10,000
    plus a few others

    do you meet these criteria?

Well my dad does! Can I not just apply for the card using his details and then buy the student season ticket in installments using the credit card
  • ummmm...no, that would be fraud and should result in a criminal record!

However, if you father was willing to appply for the card with you as a secondary, or purchase the product on your behalf, that would be ok.

Sorry that's what I meant just badly phrased! So can someone now explain to me about this whole credit card thing and if it is possible for me to pay in installments?
  • It depends on the terms and conditions of the card product.

If you can get a credit card that has 0% on purchases - say for 9 months, you can spread the cost of the ticket over the 9months. You would have to assure that the minimum payments were met monthly, if you miss a payment, the 0% offer automatically ends. At the end of the 9months, should you have any balance outstanding, this would accrue interest - typically around 1.5% /month. If you have paid the balance in full, then no interest is payable

Credit Cards are risky; especially for those people with limited knowledge. There are pages of terms and conditions that you will need to read through and understand. make sure you do before eithe yourself, or your father, enter any agreement
