Barclays - replacing debit card text?
A relative of mine has recently received a text stating to the effect: We've found an issue with your debit card. Sent out new card but can continue to use existing card for 28 days ... Not sure what's triggered this, but surely if they think the card's been compromised, they'll have: 1. Been in touch regarding suspect…

British expat living in Chile needs UK current account to transfer my Child Trust Fund
As stated in the discussion title I need a UK current account. If I transfer my CTF to a Chilean bank account I will lose about 60% of it due to commission and bank charges. Does anyone know if there are any UK banks that would allow me to open one there. HSBC who hold my CTF do not allow people due to cross border…

Co op blocked payment
OH got an email and text about a blocked payment made Sunday evening. Mentions a limited window to phone them but she is out of the country until Friday. I guess she could phone from overseas but would rather not. Anyone know how long they give you to validate it before they cancel it? Thanks.

Switching account multiple times in a row
As the title says I’m looking at both the current Lloyds switch and NatWest/RBS accounts, I’ve looked through T&Cs and can’t see anything about a minimum stay period would this mean once I’ve met the conditions to receive the money and have received the money I’d be able to switch again almost immediately?

Avoiding current account minimum pay-in
Say a current account has a £5 fee per month unless at least £2500 is paid in per month. Can you avoid this fee if your salary is under £2500 per month by just temporarily transferring into another account then moving it back by BACS thereby technically making the total paid in over £2500? Thanks :)

Cash switch bonus
I wanted to switch to Natwest and get the £200 switch bonus but it says you can't have had the switch bonus from them since January 2020. My previous account was with Natwest and i believe I did get the switch bonus, however I don't know if this was before or after Jan 2020. How would you check this?

Looking for some advise, my partner works for a US company and gets paid in USD, he then has an high street bank. the EX rate isn't great, and with him getting paid every two weeks, he seems to be losing quite a bit of money. Chase 1% cashback ending
I have had the Chase debit card for well over 12 months now and have been enjoying paying £500 into the account for a continued 1% cashback on all purchases. This apparently is only a 12 month deal, and will end in the coming months (I think around March). Are there any alternative debit cards offering the same 1% on…

I was a victim of a savage beating where I had my watch and phone stolen. I was forced to give my passcode to open the phone at the risk of being stabbed. I was finally able to get away and drive home, where ambulance & police were notified. I was taken to A&E. After leaving hospital the next day, I was made aware that the…
