swapping 123 CURRENT ACCOUNT SWITCHER to Edge or Edge up

It looks like I can switch my 123 ( fee £4/month ) to Edge or Edge up..
I currently get £8 in DD rewards and £5 interest as rate is 2%
I am attracted to 6% on 4K saver as only getting 3.9% at the moment with Santander
will I get the £150 switch bonus ?
Would I still get the 6% saver with Edge up..think I would get better interest on my current account holding than Edge ?
I understand all my accunt details /pin etc stay the same
any advice welcome

Over £2K made from bank switches and P2P incentives since 2016

You will only get the edge saver 6% for a year if you upgrade to edge .. if you upgrade to edge plus then you can’t open the edge saver
The edge plus is 3.5%1 -
You also won't get any switch bonus if you go from Santander > Santander. The account 'killed off' in the process has to be from a rival bank.

Looks like all the benefits would be in year 1, I would be £180 better off if the Edge saver stays at 6% Hmm, what are the chances of that ?Over £2K made from bank switches and P2P incentives since 2016 :beer:0

You only get any switch bonus if you switch from another bank. This applies to all banks.
If you want an Edge account, just apply for one. You can leave your 123 untouched. The Edge costs you nothing if you don’t set up any DDs on it but you do get access to the Edge Saver. Check the Forum for further discussions on this.0 -
@buyhighselllow There's a difference here between account "switching" (which moves accounts from one bank to another using CASS) and the change of account type you are referring to in your OP. If your goal is to get the £150 switch incentive from Santander for opening a new Edge account, then what you are proposing (converting your existing 123 Account into an Edge account) will not qualify unless you also switch a non-Santander account from another bank into the newly-converted Edge account.

Santander append 'Switcher' to accounts when you've had a switch bonus. Since you've already had one, you wouldn't get another (even if you were to switch in from outside).1

Just open an Edge Current Account anyway so you can have the saver. You don't have to switch or close your 123.
Just don't set up any direct debits with the Edge account, then you won't pay the fee.
I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?1 -
