They might not have stated it, they might not even remember it, but the only reason that word is there is because they have previously received a switching incentive.

Just opened a separate Edge account which then allowed me to open the Edge saver. Happy days !

Maybe they got their switch bonus prior to September 2021, in which case they are eligible for another one with this offer.

They didn't offer switch bonuses before that date. Alliance & Leicester regularly did but they all stopped after the takeover.

They did other things like cashback and refer-a-friend schemes, but to my knowledge none of these have resulted in the 'SWITCHER' suffix being added.
