Pension credit eligibility when someone claims carers allowance for looking after you .
Hi, I seem to be going round in circles. My mom gets full state pension and PIP. She has been told that because I claim carers allowance for looking after her , she doesn't qualify for pension credit. Online searching suggests there is a higher criteria amount if she claims PIP , pension helpline said this is incorrect ,…

Hi, This is only my third month of being on UC. When I first applied my bank balance was £5818. I know you have to tell them if it's over £6000 but when it's a next assessment period do I need to tell them it is now less than £5200? Thanks

UC and service charges/building insurance refund
My step daughter has a shared ownership house . She has a 25% share. She has been charged an incorrect amount for building insurance which appeared not to be eligible for UC. £57/mth for a property which would be <£120/annum as a private house. I am taking this up with the HA to review their charges as they are…

Increase in Council Tax when moving to UC
Hi there, Me & my wife were recently told to move from Income Support to UC. In doing so, I have noticed that our monthly Council Tax payments have dramatically increased from £15 a month to £61. Apparently this is due to going from weekly payments to a larger monthly payment and our reduction was changed from 90% benefit…

Hi folks, hope you can help please ! It's really hard to find advice about how much Housing Benefit my 71 year old friend will be entitled to if he moves into sheltered accomodation, as no one dares give him a figure ! Applying for a blue badge - Supporting medical evidence.
Hi folks, Some years back I had a blue badge but it was taken off me but recently I've been advised to try and apply again. But I'm a bit confused. I've thought for the past 5 - 10 years that I now needed to be on the enhanced mobility of PIP to qualify for a blue badge but recently was told that isn't the case and that I…

Funeral expenses help
My friend claims UC because of ill health. Her widowed mother has just died. Her sister who has a well paid job is more or less estranged from the family and would be unlikely to help with funeral costs. The question is whether my friend could claim help with funeral costs?

Am I really entitled to so little support?
I will find out on Wednesday if I am up for redundancy, followed by a 30 day consultation. I work in the charity sector and won't be offered anything above stat redundancy pay by my employer. I have worked there for 3 years, so entitled to £2100 stat redundancy pay. I've checked my benefits entitlement and it is not good.…

Urgent please - Are Entitled-to and Turn2us reliable please ?
Hi, I've posted a similar query already but in the wrong place, sorry, so I'm asking it again here (much simplified..) My query is, please, Can I trust Entitled-to ? And can I trust Turn2us ? They are both recommended by the government so I would hope so. But I don't want to make any mistakes or it'd maybe wreck my…

Migration To Universal Credit If state Pension is near
Does anybody know if, they'll leave people alone if they're due to retire soon. So it seems pointless to ask those people to migrate over only for them to be eligible for state pension within a short time. I know they left so many on Incapacity Benefit for several years rather than moving them to ESA exactly for that…

I received my migration notice to migrate from IR ESA (wrag) to UC which I completed on 26th March 2025. I just wanted to know if I will be receiving the 2 week run on payment? I did receive a payment on 5th April but was this because esa is paid in arrears? TIA
