Becoming an appointee
Hello Everyone,
I have agreed to be an appointee for someone I know.
They have informed DWP and a visiting officer is coming round to do the necessary ID checks in a couple of weeks. The DWP said they needed to fill in a form, do the ID checks and ask some questions.
Any ideas what sort of questions they ask? I don’t like being put in the spot so would like to know what they’re likely to ask me. I understand the commitment and seriousness of the appointee role already.
Thanks again.

Generally, they'll be checking you are that you are aware that you will be fully responsible for the claim. Depending on the benefit in question, you'll be required to attend any appointments rather than the person you're representing. You'll be the sole point of contact the DWP will accept or discuss matters with. And be equally liable in the case of overpayments, (for UC at least.)
