My first Universal Credit payment statement shows I am in the LCWRA group but it has taken off £600 for ESA payments. I have still been receiving ESA…

Universal credit: refusing legacy = deprivation of capital?
If a person refuses an amount of money, say £20k, which has been left to them in a will because they want to remain on Universal Credit, is this considered as a "deprivation of capital" for UC purposes? Even though they have never received the money? Thanks!

Mandatory Universal Credit “Appointment” to Discuss Retirement!?
I got a weird message saying in my Universal Credit online journal, saying that I had a mandatory appointment at the end of June, with one of the topics of discussion being “my preparations for retirement”!? Has anyone else had this? I am over a decade away from retirement, and to be honest just focus on trying to get to…

ESA to UC Migration - ESA letter about contributory element counting as taxable Income.
For the attention of Newcad (or anyone else who might help me understand?): I successfully migrated from Income-related ESA about 3 weeks ago. My first statement is due in about 10 days. I got a letter from ESA to say my income-related ESA was ending and have been paid my run-on in full with no overpayment, as I submitted…

JSA - experience and commitment
Hello, I’m new to JSA and finding the whole thing a bit of a challenge. * Twice my appointments have been changed with less than 24 hours notice. But each time I’ve been told I must attend. Is this normal? * My work coach told me I’m not allowed to leave the town (I went to London to see my aunt for a few days). The work…

Council Tax Reduction - Waited Almost One Month and No Response
I applied for Council Tax reduction, almost one month ago, and then sent a follow up email a few days later. I have heard nothing. I am currently on very low income, and a minimal Universal Credit. Plus of course, they have just increased council tax, and it is now one of my biggest monthly outgoings. The council tax took…

Universal Credit Change of Circumstance question
I receive UC and I started a part-time job doiing 15 hours a week. So I went on the UC website and filled in the Change of Circumstance thing. I then realised that I'd put the wrong rate of pay so I went on the website again and filled in the Change of Circumstance thing again. It's just occurred to me that, because I've…

PIP Tribunal- adjournment no 2!!
Hi all, Diagnosed with CFS (2018), depression (1996), and anxiety (2016), I’ve been fighting for PIP since a 0-point assessment (Nov 2023). My evidence is I believe robust. My tribunal has now faced two adjournments: • March 19, 2025: DWP failed to provide evidence (LCWRA, PIP 2017, ESA). This delay worsened my…

Updating UC regarding 'Capital'?
Just editing to say ignore this, I've just seen there's another thread about the same thing! There must be a new initiative :) Hi, Is anyone able to clarify this; do you have to update your 'Capital' every time there's a change, even if it's just through paying a bill? My work coach seems to think so but it would mean I…

Carers Allowance Current Wait Time
Applied for Carers Allowance online just over a month ago, the email I received said I should get a decision in about 6 weeks but that it may take longer. I've read elsewhere that it can take up to 12-15 weeks. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a decision recently and how long their wait was. Many thanks

UC reduction in savings declaration
Hi, does anyone know if you are in receipt of UC and your savings total reduces, do you have to declare it? I can understand reporting an increase, but if you’re already below the £6k limit anyway do you need to report a further reduction? And if so, how often? Thanks!

Yet another ESA to UC question.
Just had my migration letter. Did it all online ok but just reading and wondering why claims pre April 2017 get so much less. My claim was pre 2017. I know they said it won't go down to start with but that's temporary. Anyone know why this is? Don't really want to be on hold for an hour to ask DWP.
