ESA migration to Universal Credit help please

Hello,

I applied for Universal Credit on 6th May after receiving a migration letter.

I was in mainly contribution based ESA in support group with an income related top up.

My first Universal Credit payment statement shows I am in the LCWRA group but it has taken off £600 for ESA payments.

I have still been receiving ESA payments but thought these would stop.

I have read around the internet and saw that people on contribution based ESA are put onto new ESA instead of full migration to Universal Credit?

I would be grateful if someone could confirm this is correct please?

Thank you for your help.

Your Con ESA  is now New Style ESA and will continued to be paid. The old income related part has been migrated to UC.
The NS ESA is deducted in full from your UC entitlement.

Might be worth starting your own thread... detail the benefits you're getting and we can see if anything you might be missing.... and otherwise can give money saving advice. Obviously regarding mental health issues refer medical professionals but quickly... ask GP about any social prescribing options as these may be suitable for you.

Looks like you're struggling with site format but will try to help here. Food is actually one of those things you can really ram the cost down often on. Try to get use of food bank (free food supplies)....ask for a referral to such locally..  try to see if community larders operate locally (here you get two big bags of groceries for £2 a go)... also look at supermarket discounted stuff end of day (I eat a lot of Coop food but I rarely pay their full prices). If you're well located then you could potentially eat cheap... cordials are great for drinks essentially wiping out any meaningful cost during a week to a quid or two. Eating healthily and cheaply can be done reasonably I think... things like baked potatoes are nutritious with beans cheese... less than £1 a meal... minimal cooking. Look at other outgoings like any subscriptions... phone contracts to see if can get better. There will be plenty help available locally but I'm also conscious you have mental health problems that you need support for.... contact your GP if you're not getting help at moment and as minimum ask about any social prescribing options as these could really improve your outlook and social situation. Seek help potentially with budgeting... it does seem you're getting decent level of benefits once UC kicks in.... but someone would have to look in detail at what is coming in and going out. What are your big expenses... is there anything unusual like very high energy costs?

If all else fails... contact Citizens Advice (although it sounds like you're struggling to get continued help from them) or some Welfare organisation.

(Hijacking the thread I've tried to avert.... but since the Op has the clear answer to their question.. and potentially vulnerable user unable to use new thread option... just running with this).

For info copying from another thread
I still  need  help and  citizens advice stop help  when you get your first payment  im like many in limbo waiting for payment knowing  it won't cover at all since they're   paying me half which I will have to psy back many bills coming and nothing much to  cover them turn 2 us do their support  via area which north Yorkshire  or West Midlands  I dont live in either I just wanna know what to do as moneybox running out fast and bills are mounting up plus I have mental health problems and this stress  with this matter  isn't helping  as days are running  out and so is money and food
