Mandatory Universal Credit “Appointment” to Discuss Retirement!?

I got a weird message saying in my Universal Credit online journal, saying that I had a mandatory appointment at the end of June, with one of the topics of discussion being “my preparations for retirement”!?
Has anyone else had this? I am over a decade away from retirement, and to be honest just focus on trying to get to the end of the month financially.

Could be for the 50+ mid life MOT sessions being run by Job Centres. Was introduced under last Government and is being continued. It is to get people to think about their plans over the next x number of years and to provide useful information to help with this. These are group sessions that last about 90 minutes.
Or it could be the Additional Work Coach time 50+ appointments which are mandatory and are to provide more time to discuss current search for employment, any barriers being faced, health, planning for years ahead.
Governments have been concerned since Covid about the increase in those aged 50+ who are not in employment, some who are potentially headed for challenging periods ahead, where increased living costs are far in excess of any pensions they might receive. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.6 -
