Shower curtain cleaning - how often?
Similar to the bedding and towels threads, how often do people here change their shower curtain? I'm ashamed to admit that mine gets changed when it gets slimy :o Shocking I know but it's a faff changing it. All my shower curtains have permanent mould stains on them regardless of how hot and bleachy the machine wash is!

My fridge smells - how to make it smell better
Not sure where to post this so I'm trying here and on the in the home board. Does anyone have any tips on what I should put in my fridge to make it smell nice. It smells really bad at the moment when I open the door. It fills the air and lingers for quite some time. Its a combination of being away, of Camembert, sour milk,…

Anyone ever tried cooking through a whole cookbook?
I have got a bit stuck in the rut with cooking recently and started going back to some of my cook books - of which I have absolutely loads, for inspiration. I realise that I have only cooked 1 or 2 receipes - if that - from most of the books. I was wondering about setting myself a challenge (like the Julie and Julia…

Substitute for jam jars
I am rapidly running out of jam jars for my HM jam and chutneys. I do have a large number of coffee jars (the nice ones with the glass lids). Does anyone know if these can be used as a substitute? (I will not have time to check for replies until tomorrow night). Thanks in advance Mrs VP

Rubber Gloves
Can anyone recommend decent rubber gloves for washing up and general household cleaning? I used to use Marigold which are great, but have got so expensive. I recently tried Spontex Everyday Protect, but they don't seem hard wearing at all, have gone through three pairs very quickly.

me & my washing Q again..
just bought a box of washing gel tabs, a good brand, so not cheap. took it home , opened it and read the small print on the lid : not suitable for our washing machine. Went back to shop, they said they couldn't take it back. I was thinking about offering them to someone with "normal" washing machine and just forget about…
