Old style daily 28th September

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Saturday 28th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and
motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Sunny, bright and dry here this morning. Washing in machine as we speak will put on line asap.
DH up and gone off to his meeting, he'll be gone til later on this afternoon. Boys are going out with my parents, so they will be collected this morning.
Dinner last night was disjointed again, as DH didn't get in until 8.30pm - so myself and the boys had already eaten. They had the bacon and cheese kievs etc and I had fish and jacket potato. Tonight I will do roast pork as we're going out tomorrow for the day - I have some vouchers to use up and the weather isn't going to stay this good for that much longer so we're going to a local attraction tomorro.
Was reasonably productive yesterday, did manage to get beds changed. Took bags of clothes to clothes recycling bank and made £5.50 - so happy with that and I've still got loads more to sort, bag up and take, so that will be on-going. Did a some baking, made Twinks and a sponge cake. May make some mince pies today.
Collected my new varifocals and thought I was really going to struggle with them as so many people had said how difficult they are to get used to, I'm loving them, they don't feel any different except that I can actually see properly now! I think it's probably easier for me as I'd been really naughty and not had a sight test for some time and the prescription for my previous glasses was wrong, so I've been managing with glasses that are not right for some time - obviously the new one's are the correct prescription.
Plans for today are too potter about, there's a small amount of washing and ironing to do, but may well spend some time bagging up clothes, now I know I can get rid and make a bit of money I'll get that done instead of letting it all go to the CS.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all
Off to work this morning and it's going to be busy , still I will be done by lunch.
Had a lovely afternoon with dd2 yesterday , we went shopping had lunch and looked for a ring for her 18 th. She found a beautiful one . It's for her gran to give her . I've had to stump up some money for it as her gran doesn't really know the price of things today and the money she gave dd2 to get one wouldn't have been nearly enough.
She is coming for lunch today and I think she will love the one dd chose :j
Have a good day everyone xx0 -
Morning all,
WM is on, kettle is boiling and DH is supposedly getting dressed - we've a lot on today and need an early start.
There's the monthly market this morning, a charity fair for cancer this afternoon and I have to get to Sainsbob's to use my £8 off a £40 shop voucher before it goes out of date.
I also have to sort out clothes etc to fit into the carry on bag that must be found. And, I can't find some photos on the computer - I've a nasty feeling I deleted them....
Have a lovely day and hugs to those that need them!I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -

Another night of no sleep thanks to mrs milks teething and general whinging.... Sigh.
Might have a pj day as Noah at his dads and I'm not planning on going out.
Mr NPM making HM Danish pastries for breakfast.
In between comforting mrs milks I'm going to read my food mags, sort my recipes.
Need to get to grips with Paleo.
Going to get some yoga done to ground myself, shocking headache today and cold hanging around.... Will concentrate on upper body stretches to stimulate thymus.
Tea will be HM cheese and bean spicy burgers in HM seeded naps with salad, and paprika fries.
Will try mrs milks on custard today as all else failing.
Will have a DVD and nachos night with mr NPm later.
I want to list some of mrs milks 3 to 6 month clothes on eBay too.
Will pick more berries from garden and make a blackberry Charlotte.
Still need to make mango chutney today too.
Have good days all and hugs to those in need x0 -
Hi all,
Didn't get on yesterday as so busy!!
Went to docs on Thursday, she diagnosed a sinus infection so I've got a week of antibiotics. I also have to go back for blood tests next week as she was concerned at how tired I am all the time (I have on occasion had a nap in the car at lunchtime at work...) and that I lose quite a bit of hair. I'm being tested for anaemia, thyroid problems and diabetes. Hopefully it's none of those and could be fixed with a change in diet or something but she wants to rule those things out first.
Plans for today are just to get some housework done, and do some crocheting.
Hope you all have a good day!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Good morning everyone
Had a lovely day yesterday with a walk on the Transpennine trail and around Lymm dam, even managed to stay out of all the lovely coffee shops/restaurants/pubs in Lymm, which was quite a struggle.
Thought we were having lamb kebabs for dinner but the freezer pack turned out to be chicken mini fillets instead. Not sure how I managed that but they were delicious with a harrissa and lemon marinade and the courgettes and salad.
NPM - my DH eats paleo and I eat low carb so if you need any help, give me a shout, though looking again at your post, I think you may be vegetarians and we are clearly not! I forgot to say the other day that your photos are absolutely lovely.
DGD is coming to stay tonight so need to think of something she will eat for dinner. She likes curry so it may be something along those lines, and I can scrounge some rice from her mum when I go to pick her up!
I can't remember who made the recommendation but we bought the Canon PIXMA MG3150 printer yesterday. Our old faithful Lexmark seems to have died and I wanted a printer that could scan too. Bargain price of £39.99 and while I normally avoid paid for guarantees like the plague, I added £10 for a 3 year no questions asked replacement cover. That's top of the list for setting up today but I need to tidy my desk first which may take some time
Better get a move on and start the desk reconstruction so will leave with usual well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. How long has he been Paleo and how does he find it?
We are not vegetarians but I do like that type of food.
It's things like rice and pasta I struggle without. Cauliflower rice is ok but it's not rice?
Does your DH eat nightshades or does he forgo all that?

Morning all,
Got a busy day planned with cleaning this morning, shopping afterwards and a couple of family visits to fit in somewhere along the way.
NMP I am doing a bit of yoga at the minute. It's difficult with my leg but I've found some you tube videos that's show you hot to support your knees whilst doing some of the stretches. I'm enjoying it. I have to say I feel much better for it.
Dh and I are trying a different budgeting system at the beginning of October, just putting money in the bank weekly instead of monthly which is not always easy with him being self employed and sometimes people don't pay when they should but we are going to try. I hate the last minute panic at the end of the month.
Also I really need to start picking up some Christmas pressies, I've suddenly realised if I go into hospital quickly I will be stuck. I really don't want to rely on Dave for present buying, goodness knows what people would end up with:eek:
Anyway better get on. Have a good Saturday

Yoga blocks and bands can help if you have weak areas. I think asda have a mat, block and bands for 10 pounds at the mo.
My DH is self employed and budgeting etc is a pain. He earns loads on paper but then you are constantly chasing people's payments!0 -
Morning all
Fish, me and hubby all fed, hubby dropped at work, I've been to Mr T to get petrol, I also bought 2 new bras as I wear the underwired sort and the wires are under my armpits now!
I need to do a bit of housework today, the washing I put on the maiden can go outside for a blow through, the kitchen could do with a swish and swipe, but I'm not doing too much as hubby is on a promise later so I'm taking it steady til then.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs HesterChin up, Titus out.0
