Shower curtain cleaning - how often?

Similar to the bedding and towels threads, how often do people here change their shower curtain?
I'm ashamed to admit that mine gets changed when it gets slimy
Shocking I know but it's a faff changing it. All my shower curtains have permanent mould stains on them regardless of how hot and bleachy the machine wash is!

I usually try to put it to wash with my bath mat (1- 2 a month), but, to be honest, most of the time I forget. Really, it is been washed around 3 times a year and to be honest doesn't look to bad.0

Bit of a minger here too with no real regular schedule for washing it.
I tend to chuck it in the wash when I notice it looks a bit vile.
I spray a load of stain remover on the worst of the mouldy bits and just bung it in a hottish wash.
I stand in the bath to take it off the hooks, put a towel down to stop the old footsies from slippage. Wipe the rail with a wet wipe, damp rag, paper towel, old wig... whatever I have at hand.

I throw mine away when it gets horrid. However, I use two shower curtains. I have my nice one which I leave hanging on the outside of the bath. I then have a cheapo white one on the same hooks that hangs inside the bath and gets wet.0

I totally 'get' why you have two, I think it's a great idea... but aw gawd... I am far, far too lazy to hang two of 'em.0 -
I have a cheap ikea fabric one in red (doesn't look as grubby as white ones) and it goes in the washing machine every 6 weeks or so, whenever I can see it getting grubby. I wash it at 60oC and hang it back up to dry.“I want to be a glow worm, A glow worm's never glum'Coz how can you be grumpy, when the sun shines out your bum?" ~ Dr A. I do that too -but, my shower curtain (the nice one on outside of bath - gets spattered by soap and toothpaste! from the basin next to it. ( I wonder how OH manages that!) so it needs a good wash oh at least twice a year!0 -
Well thank god for that - I'm normal!!! :j0

I'm with the cheapo one on the inside, nice one outside. I use the own brand shower clean and everytime the shower gets used, that gets sprayed on the curtain as well as the tiles. Usually keeps the curtain going for about 6 weeks, then I just use, folded up and rubber banded, as a kneeler in the garden. Not just padded, but waterproof!0

I don't have a regular pattern for washing mine either, just when I notice, and that's usually too late as it's getting a bit mouldy around the hem.
I tend to stock up on plain, white shower curtains and treat them as reasonably disposable.
Anyone seen any plain white ones around fairly cheaply as I've none in stock now?0
