Separating your laundry
Hi Everyone, At the mo, I separate as follows: Darks Lights Whites Brights But what do you do if an item falls into both categories? I just bought a new skirt: it's white but with large black polka dots on it so shall I put it with Whites or Darks? What's the rule on this kind of thing anyway if you have items that cross…

Getting rid of smells
Hi all Before I give in entirely and resort to expensive, artificial smelling plug-ins everywhere, can I pick your brains for old-style deodorising techniques please? Somehow a damp coat got put away in the wardrobe of our oft-neglected 'junk room' and when I went in there the other day, the whole room smells "fusty". The…

Buying whole fish to save money?
Hey. Wondering if anyone knows about fish? Basically, i figured out that when buying stuff from the supermarket, it's often not in it's natural form, it's been changed, therefore you get charged for the 'services' that people have performed on them. For example, mince is usually more expensive per KG than the (no doubt)…

We have lots of cherry trees in common land behind our house, DD18 picked a plastic shopping bag full, cooked them up with sugar (I think), then left on her surfing hols! Budget Gluten Free Veggie Meals
As there's been a lot of talk on food poverty on the tv recently, I thought it might be interesting to cost up some of the dishes we turn to when we are well and truly skint, as well as some we will be making soon. We are veggie and I am coeliac, which can be a little awkward! Some turned out pretty cheap :j A lot of the…
