This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
No news about job and it looks like first consultation meeting is 14th August so have a week to wait to know anything. I need to get it out of my head and get on with stuff but it's difficult not to think about it.
Not much going on here except a bit of ebay listing. Am pretty apathetic ... or should that be pathetic at the moment and need to get my backside in gear.
Despite not wanting to go, I need to get moving for work so will say bye for now and catch up later. Can only echo what people said yesterday about this being a lovely thread and would rather stay here and feel nice and safe!
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning all fingers crossed for you TTFTM
great night last night at quiz,we didn't win but we all had a good evening.Today will be hopefully sorting out the stuff for the boys to take on holiday.i have got a bit of a sniffle and a sore throat so I'll be dosing myself up today .
Hope everyone is enjoying their holidays and the children aren't driving you up the wall just yet:)So far the boys have been OK and not any bother.I try to think of things to do that will keep them occupied and don't cost much cash. They are making a 'den' in the garden at the moment which hopefully will keep them happy for a day or so
:)
time for some coffee I think
Cheers chums

Morning everyone :j
It looks to be a lovely day today weatherwise, great for all the tourists here at the moment. I love seeing visitors to our town admiring the scenery. I really take it for granted now which is a shame.:o
I had a lesson in cleaning the tumbledryer filter at 6am from my hubby. I'm not really sure a lot of the info went in as I was just focussed on my first cup of tea, but hopefully it won't need doing again for a while.
Roast chicken pie, roasties and veg for tea. Yesterday's stew was a big success even though it wasn't really the weather for it. Still got lots left for lunch although all the dumplings have been snaffled.:)
Well, must go and jump in the shower before the bathroom gets taken over by DDs. It's one of the advantages of getting up early, you get a shower in peace!
Take care and as always gentle hugs for all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -
Hi all,
Had a lovely trip over to Tynemouth yesterday afternoon. I love that place! Going back today because I saw some wooden signs in Razzberry Bazaar that I think would look good in our kitchen and I want to show BF. we have a blank bit of wall that he wants something put there.
My lamb stew was lovely, got loads left so will have that tonight.
Going clothes shopping for BF today and then to look for doormat for the front porch.
Have a good day all!the only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Morning everyone
Hugs to all those that are feeling sad/poorly x
Bright and sunny here this morning. Greenhouse watered.
DH up and off to work stupid early.
Dinner last night was a change to the plan, as DS2 didn't want any dinner as he'd been out and had a big lunch with the outlaws. So I used up some passata and cream to make make smoked sausage and mushroom pasta in a creamy tomato sauce - very scrumptious it was too. Tonight we will have the sausages and onion gravy we should have had last night, I'll serve with lots of veg too.
The hairdresser came last night and we're all tidied up for our holiday.
Have just received our local free paper and read one of my customers has passed away - he had been very ill and he knew he was going to die, and was so brave. He was just a year older than me, he was 44, he leaves a lovely wife, and children, life's so cruel sometimes.
The engineer is coming today to hopefully sort out the DW. I have to take DS2's mobile phone back to the shop, as he's only had it since May and it keeps freezing and now either won't turn on at all or does and just keeps showing the manufacturers logo!
Keep safe and well x

Morning all.... Just shouted to girls to get showers for their morning club so thought I'd pop in.
I am going to end up falling out with my mum soon. As you know I have been tidying and putting stuff in he garage for car boot. I told her that it will be in about two weeks as not finished tidying. This was said on Saturday. She rang last night to ask me if I was doing it today, we were already in bed due to our early starts. This is on the back of my netball which I do every Wednesday. I have told her, even with dad as a witness that it is every weds and she says she'll put in the diary. She didn't and then blamed me saying I did not tell her. This is on top of other things that would just take too long to type. .
Anyway... Got a list of jobs to do. Determined to get all done today!
Will check back later.Don’t put it down - put it away!

Morning :hello:
My appointment was cancelled againI was ready for it (by that I mean I was suitably wound up) and they rang and said she was still off because of illness. I spent yesterday feeling deflated, lol. I have The Big Appointment at the dental access centre next week so I'll stress about that instead.
My friend had her baby yesterday, a little girl called Jasmine :T

I'm trying to design a crochet Christmas wreath, it's not going wellI had an idea, started it off, was impressed that the base worked then forgot what I was going to do next.
I can't sit still at the moment, I keep getting up and re-organising things that were perfectly fine in the first place. The house is very tidyI'm in a crafty mood so will [STRIKE]make a mess[/STRIKE] gather all my crafty things together and see what I can create.

Morning all
I'm fed up with having no energy, I've fed the fish & made my breakfast, shopping delivered between 2 & 4, I've ordered some cod in parsley sauce on the off chance I can face eating it.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all,
It's a bit dull here but very muggy.
Front and back garden grass needs cutting. Hubby will be going over the allotment shortly. I will go with him as there a quite a few broad beans that need to be picked. We have a few big tubs in the freezer already, we shelled all of those the other night.
Going to round up another load of washing. I seem to do so much washing.
Tea tonight is chicken and beef curry. I found two little parcels of the meat in the freezer.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.
