How to Cook Pies
I am struggling to consistently cook pies, specifically so they don't explode/boil over/stay soggy at the bottom. These are pre-packaged, usually one Linda McCartney and another meaty one (for the OH) Any top tips? should I brush with milk? The foil tray - leave snug or open up a bit? the holes in the bottom of the foil -…

Can the meat be cooked, frozen, cooked again, cooled down and then heated up again???? Really don't want to end up with a bout of something nasty :o I'd love to be…

Organising a family of fours laundry 4 hours per week
I'm starting a new Nanny position and to give me more money/hours per week we've agreed I'll do all their laundry including ironing. There's only me and DH at home and he likes to do his own laundry and we very rarely iron so I've never had to organise a family of fours. They have an Au Pair at the moment who has a lot…

Deterring the dust ...
I am taking a break from cleaning a corner of my bedroom, and I am not going to tell you how old some of the paperwork I have found is because it would be just too too embarrassing. When I am done, we are moving a small chest of drawers into that corner so I can keep my gubbins out of sight. I don't know how close to the…

Vertical blind disaster
Hello All, Lurked on other parts of the forum but never ventured into OS before, so I'm hoping some kind soul can help me. I've searched for vertical blinds and have picked up some tips on cleaning them - which I will do, but couldn't find much about damaged blinds. I've had my bedroom window open all morning (rented…

Is making veg stock cheaper?
I have to buy kind of pricey stock cubes in order to get wheat-free ones. Generally I get the Heinz organic ones that are designed for cooking for young children (they're just regular stock cubes, but low in salt). They're £1.44 for six stock cubes, which makes approximately 3 litres of stock. Would it be cheaper for me to…

stain removal (blood / wine)
Hi all, I realise this is probably an oft-covered topic, but a search of the site has so far yielded no answers... What's the best way to get rid of old stains from clothing (I know its best to act immediately but its not an option in this case), especially red wine and blood? Many thanks in advance

I am hoping again for advice regarding stair cleaning services, specifically in a Scottish tenement. I am lead to believe that I am required to pay for this service and I am glad to do so (have been…
