Getting indigo/jeans dye out of a canvas bag

I bought a new bag and pair of jeans recently - made sure to wash the jeans so the dye would wash out - obviously wasn't washed out enough because its stained my new violet coloured canvas bag. I'm cursing my own bad luck and have tried warm soapy water to no avail. Any tips?

If you let the bag dry, good luck
Jeans will always lose a little dye, which is why I wash them with black things or other jeans.
It's a shame the bag isn't white otherwise bleach would have worked a treat. You could try some specialised dye getting out thing like stain devil but it's probably not going to come out now
I dyed some tea towels yellow when I washed them on a 90° wash with a few dusters. Learnt my lesson!
You could try and sell the bag as thought it is meant to be there on eBay, like "hippy bag" or something? Although indigo and violet aren't that far apart so it can't be that bad?0 -

Argh! Really? Its a branded back pack so I don't think i could sell it in its current state. I'll continue to wear it but never again with these particular jeans. So annoyed.0 -
I feel for you.
I have the same problem with a stained fabric bag. I used it with jeans all the time no problems but got caught out in the really heavy rain recently and the jean dye came out onto the bag (they were not new jeans either had been washed loads). Mine was a cream bag0
