This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone

Off to a car boot sale, even through the weather doesn't look too promising at the moment. Keep your fingers crossed please!
Be back later but just wanted to say usual hi, offer sympathy and support to all in pain and leave well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super day

Hello all. Need to find the motivation to get up and put another coat of paint in the front porch! It's a lovely chocolate colour - kind of looks like Dairy Milk!
Going to BF's dad's this morning to find out where he had a frame made, and then go there for a quote. We want 6 big posters framed for our living room and front porch. He actually got them to build a display case for a guitar, and I remember it not being very expensive.
Having a big fry up today. Really looking forward to it - haven't had one in months!
Been catching up on Facebook this morning - my cousin got married yesterday and my mum was there, so I'm expecting a phone call this morning! The reception looks like it was Mary Poppins themed (my cousins married name is Julie Andrews!) so I'm looking forward to seeing more photos as the day goes on!
Really need to get a move on with stock for my small craft business. I have 2 craft markets booked over the bank holiday weekend which I have just realised is only 2 weeks away!! Argh!
Oh, and if anyone knits or crochets and wants to help Age UK, why not get involved in the Innocent Smoothie Big Knit? I've started knitting little hats for the smoothie bottles, and each one raises 25p for Age UK. Their goal this year is to raise £250,000 which is their biggest goal yet and it's the 10th year of the Big Knit. Info here: http://www.bigknit.co.ukthe only debt left now is on credit cards! The evil loan has gone!! :j:j0 -
Morning all,
Beautiful day here and I can now walk unaided :T, not long distances but at least I can get to the kitchen / loo without trouble, wont be doing for our usual hike today but it feels so much better.
Need to drop DD at work this morning, I have the first of 2 loads in the wm so will get them hung out today.
Need to go and get my windscreen checked out at some point as I have noticed a big chip in it, hopefuly I can get it done free.
I think Its jacket spud for dinner with cheese / ham and salad, dd will have some pasta as she doesn't like jackets.
Anyhoo have good days all xx0 -

As for the lists, you're right. I need a Master List

[FONT=Verdana, sans-serif]Our friends (mr tru's friend and his fiance really, rather than 'our friends') are getting married next month. Mr tru is best man – I wasn't entirely happy about that tbh, he's been best man at a few weddings, all of them proper friends but only two of them thought about best man/usher wives, usually we're shoved on a 'spares' table or wherever there's a space at the reception *rolls eyes* The reception for this one was going to be relaxed, no top table, etc. but bride has changed her mind. She's also decided that all men in the wedding party have to wear the same suit so she wants everyone to get together so they can choose one together – they have to pay for their own though! Mr tru has said no, he owns two suits so there's no way he's buying another. I can't see the others being happy about this either. A couple of other things are starting to niggle, she's turning into a right bridezilla. Numbers haven't been confirmed for catering yet, I think I'll just go to the church then skip the rest of the day. Mr tru won't like it, but he's not going to be near me for the whole day anyway.
Today I have to water down some paint and put a coat on the bathroom ceiling. It's been bare plaster for over a year
Also have to do a bit of gardening, it's looking a bit scruffy out there.

Morning all,
Great excitement in the night - DH woke me up to tell me we had a drunk in the front garden (all 4 feet of it). He was lying face down and his friends were trying to pick him up. When they finally got him up, he ran away - I heard him hit the hedge a couple of houses down. It's not Uni term time, so no idea who/why. No real damage done thank goodness - I'm nursing a bargain hydrangea but he missed it in falling- but they did leave an empty can of Sprite behind. Nasty stuff!
Washing today, and some replanting in the back garden.
Dodgy hugs to all :grouphug:I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Morning all
Fish fed, breakfast eaten.
Hubby's gone to work, he should have been on holiday til Tuesday but he's been asked to swap Saturdays and cover today, then there was no-one to cover Sunday so he's working tomorrow and now he has to cover Monday as his colleague is collecting the keys for his flat and it seems that is now an all day job! Oh well it's all money.
My big plan for today is to drag myself in to the shower and to make my self look humanish.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester0 -
Good morning all,
Dull day but the sun does keep popping out.
My back is feeling a bit better today. Washing is out on the line.
I have made a jam and cream sponge, weetabix cake and jj's herby bread. At least the tin will be filled up now.
Hubby is at work until 1. He wants to get over the allotment when he gets home.
Tea tonight is chicken with potatoes and salad.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all,
Grocery shopping all done and dusted. We did it straight after hubby finished work last night. Both of us knackered. Him because he's 50 and working 12 hour shifts and me cause I didn't sleep well the night before. He staggered to bed around 10pm where I fell asleep at my computer not long after. I woke up at 2am and almost fell over a dog whilst making my way to bed.
I don't remember the men going to work this morning.:oGreat excitement in the night - DH woke me up to tell me we had a drunk in the front garden (all 4 feet of it).
Obviously partied hard.:D:D:D
Not much to do today, just a usual weekday for me so I celebrated by cleaning the kitchen floor.:o

Oops, just re-read it
the garden is only 4 feet from house to wall : we didn't measure the drunk! He did well to land on the clear space and not the plants. I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
