Use up seed mix?

Hi all
I got a bit obsessed with buying packs of mixed omega seeds from Holland and barrett a while ago when they were cheap and surprise surprise not used them up! They are "best before Sept 13".
Is this something you can have past use by date and what on earth can I do with them apart from just eat them normally. Would love to know if anyone has any exciting bread recipes or anything!
Thanks

I often add seeds to my muesli in a morning or add them to flapjack mix.
For bread I would take a normal bread recipe and add a handful of crushed seeds to the mix (good in granary bread) and then maybe press some into the 'crust' before you leave the dough for its final prove and cooking.I like to live in cloud cuckoo land :hello:0 -
I don't normally take much notice of 'use by' or 'best before', and don't buy seeds. but in this case I have read somewhere that after a certain time seeds can 'forment'? this makes them dangerous to eat (for us humans). I would use up as much as I can - add them to cake mix or muesli or just snack on them? after the use by I would be making 'fat balls' for the birds.0

muesli, flapjacks, cakes and bread; just add them to what you already make. I would visualise them as money so I'd use them up instead of throw them away!0

Freeze them and use them from frozen:eek::eek::eek: LBM 11/05/2010 - WE DID IT - DMP of £62000 paid off in 7 years:jDFD April20170

Are they seasoned at all or just plain? If they're just plain you can make them into fat balls for the birds but don't use seasoned ones for this!
I like toasted seeds added to stirfries as a replacement for cashew nuts (which are really expensive).0 -
These are lush - kids love them and don't realise they are eating healthy nuts and seeds! Super simple to make and last for about a month in an airtight tin i find.

(Even better with extra chocolate chips but don't tell anyone!)0 -
I always add a tbsp or two to rice when I'm boiling it, for extra nutrition. I actually got that tip from the guy who I bought mine from in H&B.October Grocery Challenge: £20.65/£150

What sort of seeds?
I'd add a few to various recipes; if they're sweet-ish, I'd add some to the topping for fruit crumble, if definitely savoury, I'd use some in my HM nut loaf, for instance.
For bread, I usually add either poppy, sesame or linseeds; I also add poppy seeds to the dough for a pizza base.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Thanks everyone!
Can they really be frozen??
It is a mix of like pumpkin, sunflower seeds, not sure what else it's called omega sprinkle.
Thanks0 -
The H&B website says:
Sunflower Seeds (36%), Pumpkin Seeds (24%), Brown Linseed (15%), Golden Linseed (12.5%), Seasame Seeds (12%)
Assuming there's no other seasoning, I'd put them in crumble mix or muffins. Maybe mix with breadcrumbs and use to top fish pie/shepherd's pie/macaroni cheese? Otherwise, they're fine to make into fat balls for the birds.0
