Finally broke it out to steam some veg, and it boiled dry (I did two batches and didn't think that all the steam coming out of the first batch would be all the water in the pan). In fact it boiled dry to the point that its gone a funny colour now I've got all the…

Chicken stock question
I've got some frozen chicken stock, from the last lot I made. However, I suspect it's a bit weak, because it's not very jelly-y. If I make more stock today, can I add the frozen stock to it to strengthen it? i.e use the old stock as the liquid of the new?

Potato Pudding - has anyone tried this before?
I found this recipe for Potato Pudding in a charity cookbook from a few years ago. It's a recipe donated by the actor Paul Scofield and I wondered if anyone's tried it or had something similar before.....and if so, was it any good?! POTATO PUDDING 1lb Potatoes (when peeled) 3ozs sugar (I would imagine caster sugar) 3 ozs…

Elevenses ideas
Hello, I need some inspiration. My boyfriends brother, sis-in-law and niece and nephew are coming over for elevenses tomorrow and rather than going out and buying cakes and stuff (far too expensive) I would prefer to make them, but I'm not really sure what to serve and how much is expected. So far I had thought of making a…
