Cleaning my pressure cooker

Ok, so I got a pressure cooker for my wedding back in June. Finally broke it out to steam some veg, and it boiled dry (I did two batches and didn't think that all the steam coming out of the first batch would be all the water in the pan). In fact it boiled dry to the point that its gone a funny colour now I've got all the burnt bits off. Any ideas what this is and how I could clean it and restore to its former glory (quickly as the giver of the gift is coming for tea on Saturday!!)? It says its stainless steel but clearly, it has been stained!
