Anyone know how to make foul madamas?

Hello! We tried to make foul madamas (Egyptian breakfast with fava beans) last weekend, but it came out really wrong.
Although the beans were soaked overnight, they didn't cook properly.
Would be really grateful if anyone had a recipe or any tips! Thanks :-)

use the dry brown fave beans - soak in cold water with a table spoon of bicarbonate soda powder for 2 days or till they are soft remove skin (if not skinless. when soft enough rinse in cold water.
