Elevenses ideas

Hello, I need some inspiration. My boyfriends brother, sis-in-law and niece and nephew are coming over for elevenses tomorrow and rather than going out and buying cakes and stuff (far too expensive) I would prefer to make them, but I'm not really sure what to serve and how much is expected. So far I had thought of making a batch of Twinks Hobnobs and some fairy cakes for the kiddies, but not sure what else. I have plenty of flour, eggs and other baking things, so any suggestions for food and amounts would be welcome.

Yep, scones - the Nigella Lawson recipe with the arrowroot in it is foolproof.
Or something brunchy like muffins with eggs florentine?0 -

Oh you have to have jam and coconut slice.Which is just basic sponge cake baked in a square baking tin then topped with jam and coconut when cold and sliced.Simple but tasty and quick too

Cherry & Marzipan cake - i make it in the breadmaker but i'm sure in your oven is fine. My family love it and any guests who have tried it go away with the recipe. It takes 55 mins in the panny.
50g caster sugar
175g butter
3 med eggs
SR flour 225g
glace cherries 100g

Thanks for all the suggestions. I went with spiced rock buns, Twinks and fairy cakes as I found out they'd only be here for a couple hours, so didn't want to make too much.
