Sourcing flour
Have been listening to the radio this morning about how the price of wheat has risen by about 22% and the consequent knock on effect of the price of flour/bread etc. etc. I recently brought the Panasonic bread maker (thanks to the rave reviews from this board) and am delighted with it so at least I won't have to pay the…

superfast home-made mushy peas
Sorry if this recipe has been posted before. We were having fish and chips (home cooked ) for tea tonight and realised I didn't have any tins of mushy peas so thought I'd improvise. I cooked some frozen peas and blitzed them with a handblender with salt, pepper, butter (and a knob of feta cheese - needed using up somehow;)…

What foods/drinks for 10hr car trip
Can anyone suggest what I should cook/buy for food/drink for a 10hr car trip please? I'm hoping to save on the very expensive (and yucky) 'restaurant' food they serve at service stations. The weather is cold and rainy so picnics are not a good idea. I've got a travel kettle to heat up water. A 2year-old will be on the trip…

Our 18 month old goose down quilt, after a fantastic initial performance, has two flat, almost empty parts (in spite of sewn pockets which I have gone over without finding any leaks) Where are these empty parts Topher?
