Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 23rd aug. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
got up feeling really weird, wasnt feeling great yesterday either, hope im not coming down with anything!
ds1 got a recorder from school yesterday, he was busy practising last night, will have to get used to the noise:rotfl:
Got mil's 60th birthday lunch on sunday, all the family invited and we have to pay 100 pounds towards it! really cant afford it but no choice really in the matter!
Got to do a card too for her, just cant think what to do though
Hope everyone is feeling better than me!
Susie

Morning all,
Kyle, I’m sorry you aren’t feeling well…try to take it easy today.
Yesterday was a gorgeous day here so I had hoped to spend a couple of hours with a book in the garden but it didn’t happen that way.
Dd had an orthodontist appointment at 9am in Belfast….. I don’t really do mornings, but I had to yesterday. We battled our way through the rush hour traffic and she now has her braces removed and her teeth look really lovely. Next stop was the school uniform shop to get her skirt. They had the size she wanted, so that went well, then we only had to get home. Sounds simple doesn’t it…..well it wasn’t….we got completely and utterly lost. So what should have been a half hour car journey turned into two hours!
Home for a while, fed the hungry (and their friends) then off to get the boy’s haircuts for going back to school. It should have taken less than an hour…but I got kidnapped by the hairdresser. She told me in no uncertain terms that my hair did nothing for me, and I was like a lamb to the slaughter! She’s the sort who calls a spade a spade (don’t know if that’s an Irish colloquialism), but she was right…she cut six inches off the length, layered and shaped it and it feels wonderful! I still have long hair but it feels so much lighter and I feel so much better.
Back home, pulled a casserole out of the freezer, fed the hungry again and then out to work…….so, very little in the way of Old Style for me yesterday.
Today is going to be spent packing for the holiday…..the ironing is done, so all I have to do is put it into the cases. We’re leaving at 2am to travel to Dublin for a flight at 6am. I’m working tonight too, so I haven’t decided whether or not it’s worth going to bed afterwards.
I have no idea what’s for tea…….they’ll be lucky to get anything the way things are going.
I hope you all have a good week.
Take care,
Pink0 -
Good Morning everyone!
Had a really horrible dream , woke up crying! I now know it was only a dream and it's such a relief , but I can't stop being upset yet ~ pathetic I know!

Morning all,
Kyle, sorry to hear you arent feeling too well.
Pink - good luck with the packing i hate doing it, but i am soo jealous you are going away!
I went to bed at 9pm last night and have been up since 1.05 am, couldnt sleep for worrying about this scan this morning.
Will have to get the kids up and dressed soon, and am still wondering what excuse i am going to give them for dropping them off with friends at 7.45 in the morning! Im not ready to tell them about the new baby yet.
Hopefully if everything goes well this morning i will feel like telling them.
Dont know what i will be doing for the rest of the day, but hopefully i will be back home by 9.30 in a fantastic mood and the world will be my oyster (or the washing pile at least) :rotfl:
Hope everyone has a good day, will pop in later to see how everybody else is doing, i suppose i better get moving and try to drink a pint and a half of water and keep it down!

Morning Kyle and all who follow.
I was starting to feel lonely! How is it some days every1 is up before 5 and others there's no-one until nearly 7? Odd!
Read yesterday but didn't post. Didn't have a lot to say and OH home anyway so I feel "curtailed" on the computer, especially when his work wasn't going to plan!
Went and bought yet another sample pot of light&space paint for landing. First started this saga a couple of months ago and cannot find the right colour/shade! That colour didn't work so as it was sunny, OH & I treated ourselves to dinner out in a pub which is on Cleeve Hill with a fantastic view overlooking the Cheltenham valley and then went back to Homebase and got ANOTHER 2 sample pots. Guess what - these are even worse! For some reason the light&Space paints just don't seem to be anywhere near the colour chart. What looks slightly yellow/orange/peach turns out strawberry ice-cream! Aaagh. This landing/bedroom is never going to be done.
Finlay had a playdate with a friends 2 kids! He wasn't sure what to do - kept hiding under a sofa. I think one pair of feet would have been fine but 2 pairs in our small living room were a little bit frightening for pipsqueak. He worked it out though, and got a bit of a run-around.
No other news. Must OS lots today. only about 8 weeks until we go on holiday and I'd like house to be reasonable before new cat-sitter comes in and stares with amazement!
Hope all are feeling well, or will perk up during the day. Cross fingers Heavenleigh.0 -

I was annoyed 2 days ago when hubby rang from work and woke me up whilst i was in a very nice situation with Bradd Pitt!!! I was gutted and no matter how hard i tried i couldnt get back to it.

Morning all
Nice and bright today, but there is definitely an autumnal chill in the air
Lovely day yesterday, took my sister to see my new gd, she is now 13 days old, and is lovely.
Hope you feel better soon Kyle, my dh didn't feel well yesterday, but I got him some kaoline and he feels much better today - I think he thinks it's my cooking that made him ill :rotfl:
Pink, have a great holiday, I can't remember where you are going, but it is bound to be warmer than it is here.
Work today so sandwiches for lunch and chicken casserole in the sc for dinner.
Hope everyone has a good day x
Loads of us posted at the same time and I missed Heaven's post about her scan and just wanted to say good luck. I remember my scan (many years ago), and still remember having to drink loads of water, and then the woman pressing really hard on my tummy to get the scan - there was nearly an accidentYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -
Good morning kyle and to all who follow. Havn't posted for a couple of days the weather has been fab here and i saw it as my last oppurtunity to wash everything in sight. I washed the cover of the sofa in the front room all the curtains in every room and all the beds and pillow and single duvets, everyroom has had a thourough going over, feeling rather saintly today. Today's plans are washing and ironing and i have a funeral later, my step-dads uncle, he was 78 but died after being ill for about 5 years. Its still always sad. Had a quick flick through the days posts yesterday after wrestling the computer of ds1, i can't wait for the routine of school days....... Two weeks yesterday, and counting. Anyway just wanted to say that i find Jackie o so positive and upbeat and really look forward to reading your posts(even though my thanks button doesn't work) and Juliapenguin, i know how you feel i had PND after dd, those days are so dark, lots of love to you. Bye for now SharronSometimes your the dog, and sometimes your the lampost..:p0
