    Hi all,

Now I'm not upset anymore I can tell you what my dream was about ~
don't laugh, because I woke up crying as it was so upsetting!

I dreamt that my DH slept with Shirley off East Enders.:rotfl:

    Afternoon all

It's yucky here - it's rained all day and it's so grey and windy - blugh.

Loads of jobs to do in the garden before we go away next week but can't get them sorted whilst it's so wet.

DD2 is having another attack of her glands/sore throat/headache and is very clingy - I've just sat and taught her how to play backgammon which she's picked up very easily - I'd much prefer playing that to "bratz fashion" or "junior scrabble".

DD1 has spent the morning chatting to friends on MSN - as I look at it, it's improving her typing skills lol.

Just waiting for the plumber to come and look at the boiler - someone came in March and never came back to fit the part and I've been nagging the Landlord ever since - amazing how quickly a plumber arrives when I threaten to not pay the rent this month :D He's supposed to arrive at 3pm - we shall see - I won't let him go until he promises to come back and get it sorted!

Did some patchwork this morning - made a complete mess of it and had to unpick some - I've thrown it in a heap on the sofa now and keep glaring at it - I know it doesn't help but it makes me feel better

Sausage and mash for tea - how inspirational is that.

    Have a great afternoon all

Ohhhh and congrats to Master Mix - how handy to have a mechanic in the family!!

  • Well done and congratulations to master mix (sounds like a rapper's name, doesn't it? :D ).

frogga Shortly after I got married I woke up from a dream and punched (my now X)DH in the arm as I dreamt that he slept with someone else. We had only been married about 3 months and it felt so real. Felt very sheepish later, mind.

Pen-Pin could you get the Monsoon suit altered by a dressmaker? The one I use can do the most complicated alterations. Must be cheaper than buying a new suit surely? If it's done well, you may even be able to reverse the alterations if your weight picks up again.

PenPen thanks for the warning on the phishing e-mail.

Been swimming, picked up DS's prescription, stripped my bed and the washing line is full. Have done quite a few other jobs that seriously needed doing so all in all, a good day for me.

My tomatoes and pumpkins are doing really well but my pepper plants look like little doilies thanks to the slugs and caterpillars.

Almost finished the new Andrea Camilleri book - once I start his books, I can't stop. May sit outside in the sunshine with a little glass of pinot grigio.

Dinner is steak pie with mash, cabbage and broccoli. May make a fruit salad for later.

(((hugs))) if you want them. xx

  • Afternoon Guys!

Not too much going in here per usual:rolleyes:

OH & DD have gone into town to get a new lot of tablets that the doctor has asked me to start taking....no wonder I cant eat:rotfl: ...and they have bought a reduced FR chicken £2.40...so OH is making a Roast for dinner:j :j :j :j He has also bought 4 Cream scones, so have just put the kettle on for earl grey when he gets back:D

Cleaners did a fab job as usual. I tell her not to worry changing bedding next week as we will only be sleeping in it 2 nights and see if she can do a few other jobs instead;)

The Suit-I have tried it on and both skirt and jacket is hanging on me. I will see what my local dressmaker thinks of it as I want to be able to wear it if I put some weight on too.

Havent even started packing etc for our holiday Saturday:eek:     ...have put some tinned stuff into a bag. I have made a list of what we need to get together and shouldnt take long. Will pack everything into a medium suitcase as theres a WM there and we can just wash the clothes and re-wear them. Must also book the Zoo tickets up as we get a better discount online. OH has suggested we take the manual wheelchair, as I dont have much energy as it is and he says he needs some exercise.

I really havent done much research into this holiday as Ive just been up to it, so we will just drive about and see what there is. I think Taunton is quite a big place?

Anyway, they are just back and am looking forward to my scone.

    Hugs to all.

Hi, jusy popped on for a quick hello!

Hope everyone is well and congrats to those getting their exam results today!

Well I've got half a new kitchen  ...but we're getting there. DH and my dad had a real job replacing the worktops, sink etc but it looks lovely now. We've got quartz granite gloss worktops now (laminate not marble) and a shiny new sink. I'm still waiting for the new cupboard doors and handles to go on. As the old kitchen was so badly fitted by the previous owners we've had to do so much to the cupboards. DH has been plastering some of the damaged walls and then it will be sealing the worktops, tiling, painting and putting on the new doors. I reckon the total cost for doing it up is around £600 as we bought the stuff in the B&Q sale a few months ago. :D Not bad for a (nearly) new kitchen!
The weather has been great so the kids have been able to get out and about and I've been trying to keep them out of DH's way. Yesterday I took the girls for a for a picnic and on Tuesday we went into town to buy school shoes (along with half of Liverpool), but it wasn't too bad. As DD1 is only 10 but takes size 5 shoes there was limited choice in Clarks but I ended up getting her a nice (sensible) pair in a local shoe shop for £20, around £14 cheaper than Clarks. It will be interesting to see if they last as long.
    Time to get busy again!

    Afternoon everyone,

Havent been around for a few days, had horrendous morning sickness which has actually been all day sickness.. and meant i wasnt even keeping water down! I was even in the toilet throwing up at the doctors surgery on tuesday when my name was called for my first midwifes appointment which apparently is a good sign?  :rotfl:

Desperately trying to finish my OU assignment that has to be in TODAY but i havent finished! Only 1/4 done as id left it till this week after feeling "off" anyway not knowing i wouldnt even be able to even get out of bed most the time this week ive been that ill ... never mind concentrate on an essay! Unfortunetly its one tutor cant give extensions on too.. so once ive posted this im off to do some more (i keep needing breaks, brain is just not working! eek!).. !!!!

Not much OS done at all..... but mum has been popping in looking after me and has done my washing etc... so hopefully not much to do anyway ........after i finish this assignment!

Hope everyone is well and done well on exams etc.

Heavnleigh - hope your scans gone ok. I have my first scan on sept 27th when i'll be 13 weeks 4 days by my reckoning.

This "keeping your pregnancy secret till 12 weeks/1st scan" is a right pain in the backside though as i have my 22nd birthday and a action filled, booze up (adults only) scout camp before then which ive got to make excuses to get out of somehow!!! PLUS i have to break my promise to MY scouts (10-14yr olds) to get involved in the kayaking and abseiling ive arranged for them to do on the 23rd sept without telling anyone why im standing on the sidelines!! :o:o Ah well...

Just a final note... My thoughts today are with the family of the little 11 year old boy shot dead last night in Croxeth, although i dont know the boy or the area that well my OH's parents close to were it happened and its a really scary thought (specially being a first-time-mum-to-be) that you can send your lil boy out to play a game of football with his mates and for something like this to happen. Its really bothered me i cant get over how horrendous it is. :(
  • Afternoon all,

Thank you for all your kind wishes this morning and i'm glad to say after, no sleep last night, a 20 minute journey trying my best not to throw up and wet myself at the same time i got great news. :T

Bubba is fine and dandy and was wriggling away, i got to see it's heart beating away strongly and it's little arms and legs flailing around showing off to the camera.

The sonographer could see no signs of a bleed site so it is just down to one of those things, and now it seems so real.

Only another 2½ weeks until i get to see him/her again and maybe that time hubby might be able to tear himself away from work long enough to go and have a look.

Afternoon all! Hope everyone is OK. Finally got a minute to myself - DH has gone to quote on a job for next week and I really hope he gets it! It's been worse than I remembered during the school holidays when the children were small! He hates having no work. Mind you, I can't complain - he does loads round the house (not in quite the same way that I do!) but good enough. I know I'll miss him when he's back to being busy again but I need time on here as well!

Welcome to JACKSMUMMY - you'll love it here!
(((hugs))) to everyone in need and GOOD LUCK to all those awaiting exam results and congratulations to MASTER MIX - well done!

The weather has been quite nice today - it made a half-hearted attempt at raining earlier but the sun is shining now. I twisted my back yesterday which was another reason for not getting on to the computer. I had to give the gym a miss and it still hurts a bit now. I hope I can go tomorrow. It's a lot better - I thought for a minute that the dreaded slipped disc had returned but I don't think it's that.

Anyway, I've made some burger type things with some sausagemeat that was lurking in the freezer and I managed to pick some blackberries to make a crumble for pud so that's dinner taken care of.

Well, my back is playing up again so I'm going to have a sit down, which will be a luxury. I couldn't get comfortable anywhere yesterday, even in bed!

I'll try and catch up with the thread - and yesterday's! - and hope to call back here later. Have a great afternoon.

FANTASTIC SCAN, HEAVENLEIGH! So pleased everything is OK. They never had scans when I was expecting my first and didn't bother giving me one when I was having the second, so I find them fascinating. Thank you for sharing it!

  • Heavenleigh, glad everythign is OK!

Well, plumber finally showed up + fixed the bath; apparently the drain hadn't been put on properly, so he put a new one on. Also fixed the loose cold tap.

Just popped back... has anyone heard from Queenie? I think she's back from her holiday now, and I'm really looking forward to hearing how her son's birthday went.
