Good morning everyone and hello to Jacksmummy.
I'm feeling a bit brighter today - knowing that I am seeing the GP is a relief, even though I'm not sure what he can do to help.
After I've been to the GP at 11.10 I'm driving up to Preston to see my Mum then after he finishes work Big Baby Penguin will come and have tea with us both! I miss him so much it's untrue. He left home a year ago to take up the chance of an apprenticeship in Preston and lives with his Dad now (until he's earning enough to move out).
My OH helped me last night to make a curry for today's tea (my Mum's very frail and can't cook for more than herself) and we also washed and tidied out my car. I also tried an OS remedy on my favourite scratched Fratellis cd - toothpaste. I'll let you know if it worked!
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning everyone
Welcome to Jack's mummy. :hello:
Slept well last night but I'm up far too early today.
Finished the antibiotics yesterday but the lump is still there on my boob. So, another visit to the doc is needed I think. I've also got a couple of other "ladies" problems so I suspect I'm quite run down at the minute. It's all self-inflicted of course as I haven't been eating as healthily as I would normally. So, back to normal today. Breakfast will be fruit with yoghurt and lunch will be salad.
DS has already thrown a strop. Need to get him out of the house and get some fresh air. We had a lovely day out yesterday so will try for a repeat performance.
Bin is out (DS threw the strop because I asked him to put it out - I'm still in my nightshirt.) and I'm just about to strip my bed to wash the bedclothes. Another sunny day ahead so I'm going to make the most of it.
(((hugs)))) to those with hospital appointments, etc. Mrs mix hope DD's op goes well and she isn't in too much pain. Fingers crossed to all getting GCSE results.
julia penguin It's a lovely day here in Preston today so I hope you have a nice time visiting your Mum.
Have a thrilling Thursday. xx"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Kyle hope you feel better soon
Pink hope you have a great holiday
Leigh will be thinking of you
Amie hope you enjoy Bratz, must say after seeing the ads, I think I'd be trying to find a 'way out' :rotfl:
Ali pleased to hear your Dad is getting better, 12th, oh that's so close, I am sure it'll feel real soon, maybe that lovely 'nesting' stage will kick in making you want everything ready
Penny there are a few websites like that which just sell 'fairy cakes' but at really huge prices. I know someone who seen the fairy cake wedding idea but instead of paying the £160!!!! she was quoted, made it herself! http://www.saralouisekakes.co.uk/Halloween%20Cup%20Cakes.asp £30 for 16 plus postage!! http://www.thecakestore.co.uk/acatalog/England_World_Cup_Tiered_Cakes.html etc
dlb I know what you mean about the kids, I usually love having the boys at home but now they are just sick of the sight of each other and the kids who've been here 24/7, feeling more like a referee this week than a Mam
Jacksmum welcome
Good morning everyonebeen a while since I posted on the daily so thought I would pop in. Hope everyone is well. Must start being a bit more OS again, been buying baked bread/rolls instead of making it
etc, really got out of the habit of a lot of things, also been baking other things less. I keep saying it's time because of the school hols but a loaf really doesn't take that long so I should stop making excuses and get on with it!
Day of mainly cleaning, laundry and hopefully some gardening as it's nice outside so far. I need to rearrange the freezer at some point, it's like one of those nasty cupboards that springs out at you when you open the doornot because of overful, just my organising
Right best go and do something, haven't decided what yet, have a nice day everyone
One day I might be more organised...........

Hello to jacksmum as well! Any more lurkers put there? HALLLOOOOO! *sees a few in the distance; leaves a plate of biccies and a pot of tea out for them*
The wedding cake fairy cakes tend to be worth the money as they aren't just iced and sprinkled; the decorations are often hand-made as well. I know someone who does wedding cakes as a business and she is so busy she can't keep the website updated... can barely keep up with the cakes LOL ....... I do her website. Waiting until the autumn when she allegedly slows down to update it for her. If anyone would like the addy, pls PM me; I dont' want to be accused of refering so wont' put it up on here.0 -

Morning Guys!
A better night here, so cant complain.
WM is on with the bedding and the cleaners are here doing their stuff. Should be gone in half an hour:D
Have had several replies to house help and ironing, but no one seems to be giving me information and all seems a little mirky IYKWIM. Nobody will give me an address of where they live and obviously I want someone whom I can trust as they will be helping me for 4 hrs a week. I will put another ad on when we come back from holiday and see how we go then. What would you say is a fair amount per hour? Most are only paying minimum wage.
Not doing anything much today, apart from you've guessed it...resting!! Have been invited to friends for coffee and cake this evening, so looking forward to that. I am sure it will be more like....wine and cheese, but sounds more elegant:rotfl:
I am keeping everything crossed today for my friends DD. She needs 5 GCSE's at grade A-C to stay on for specific A Levels.
Anyway, Id best go and see what my pain in the bum DD is doing.
Hugs to all and welcome newbies.
Edit-Was wondering if anyone can help me on this? You know that expensive Monsoon suit I bought last year for nephews wedding...well, where Ive lost a few pounds and its going down weekly...what are my options, as I need it for a wedding at the end of SeptemberThe skirt is a 10 and jacket a 12. I am hoping my weight will stabilise abit before then but dont want to have to buy another outfit. Any ideas?

Good Morning everyone ,now before I start I must just say to Amie99 and Heavenleigh that as the erm.. older lady on this board I must remind you that Brad Pitt is ALL mine;) and any naughty thoughts about him must desist right now :rotfl: :rotfl: . it was the thought of his rear end that made me make saucy remarks to my aneath.. ??sp.(gas man) in the hospital two weeks ago:D .
Well ladies I have read through the posts so far and on looking out of my window can only see rain, rain and more blooming rain.Where on earth is the sunshine .We go away to Norfolk on Saturday and I am seriously thinking of taking my wellies with me.
Yesterday I wobbled over to the shops on my own :j felt really chuffed although I didn't buy much as I couldn't carry it, but hey I was on my own and no-one to say 'mind how you go' & 'watch where your walking' I am such an independant old cuss at times, and I know my DD mean well, but I was determined to have a go.
Today I have my pal coming down from Dartford to see me and I know we will have a good day as she is very good company, and we toddled aound America three months ago and never stopped laughing .We are going to make a start on our (Christmas Cards ) whispered that in case folk get cross as it's only August.
We make individual ones for everyone on our list depending on their tastes, hobbies ect, it is very OS and we re-cycle lots of things rather than pay out bundles in the craft shops .She is very artistic and has lots of ideas ,I mainly make the tea and suggest the odd idea or do a good deal of cutting out as I love doing decoupage cards.
She has also promised to help me pack my bag for the holidays. She is a very seasoned traveller and spends half of her retirement travelling with her husband or on her own.
Tomorrow I have to go to the breast clinic to have my bits aspirated (drained off). apparently its quite usual for this to happen after surgery and as I'm off on my hols for a week I really don't want to have to go to the neartest A& E in Norwich to have it done next week.I will be glad when next year comes and all will be back to 'normal' in these old bones .Still onwards and upwards, theres a lot worse than me about .
My gorgeous grandson gets his GCSE results today .I think he will do well as he took three last year and sailed through them a year early as he is a very clever boy.
Well I hope everyone has a great day and if you are in need have a <<hug>> and if not then have a biginstead.
Only 123 days until Christmas ladies and I have wrapped my first present already ( old smarty pants ).
