HardupH - I had DS1 in 1978 and had to have scans as placenta previa - they didn't have a clue! No better in 1980 when I had DD.

Spoken to my neighbour about Mum (she is a cardiac nurse at Edinburgh RI) and Mum's procedure should be very straight forward. I still wonder why they didn't do these checks over the last few weeks when she has been in an out of hospital. Anyway, thank goodness she is being dealt with properly now. Neighbour said they have done pacemaker on a gentleman who was 100 so they must think these days quality of life is important.

Feeling a bit tired after the day I have had. Might check in later.

Feeling very proud of myself, have done a meal plan for September...very rough and there are a few repeats involved...even did 31 days by accident. As we will be away for 8 or 10 days there should be food left over at the end of the month.

GB...glad to know that your mum will be in hospital until her pacemaker is put in place...not a huge job apparently and very successful, should give her a much better quality of life and independance.

We had salad, cheeses, hb eggs, salami, potato salad and fresh brown bread for dinner...there was soup if something hot was required. OH finally cleared up the mess that used to be my herb garden but put the pickaxe through a manhole cover in the process...I didn't even know that it was there, will buy a new one to-morrow when I am out. I was trying to persuade him to leave the 8 foot tall fennel (herb) to dry so that I could use it on the fire in winter but he wasn't having any, dumped it in the field, so the cattle will have a feast!

Going to try and find some ripe blackberries to make 1) wine, 2) apple and blackberry jam, couple of crumbles. Blackberries seem rather stunted this year, will have to go out to fields. Elderberries are being slow to ripen and I will have to go all the way to Roscommon to be sure of getting sloes for gin...made sloe vodka one year and it was very good.

    Sleep well everyone
