superfast home-made mushy peas

Options
Sorry if this recipe has been posted before.

We were having fish and chips (home cooked ) for tea tonight and realised I didn't have any tins of mushy peas so thought I'd improvise.

I cooked some frozen peas and blitzed them with a handblender with salt, pepper, butter (and a knob of feta cheese - needed using up somehow;) ). Much better than the tinned stuff!

Doing this method with minted frozen peas and a dash of lemon juice is lovely too!!! (never tried them with cheese tho)

I usually blitz a tin of marrowfat peas with just a trace of mixed herbs in there :)

I found a lovely recipe online, which is how I do mushy peas every time. More gastropub than tinned mushies.

chop as many shallots as you have, and fry them in a bit of butter. Add frozen peas and good veggie stock. Cook, then strain, blitz and add a knob of butter
