Damp smelling house - help?!?
Hi I moved into my ground floor flat about 6 months ago and there is always a horrible musty old smell in the flat, even though I always leave the windows and back door open when I'm at home. The smell mostly seems to come from the living room, hallway and bathroom (I don't have a window in the bathroom). We don't have any…

Elderflower Drinks - Help!
I have now picked my elderflowers and they have been rinsed and are sitting in the sink. I'm now away out to get some sugar and lemons and, maybe, citric acid. My questions are: Should I make the cordial or the champagne? Can you freeze the champagne in the same way as the cordial? Also, I am going away on holiday 2 weeks…

Help....My jam won't set
I had a very large glut of strawberries after massively over catering last weekend, so decided to make jam with them. However, as am trying to be careful with what I eat, I hunted out a diabetic strawberry jam recipe off Google (see below) I followed the recipe carefully and made the jam. Left it overnight and it didn't…

Coffee Conundrum?
I love latte, but when it comes to drinking it at home it seems that you have to have some super duper coffee machine which takes odd shaped little pods and apparently, according to the ads, sings and dances round the kitchen and undoubtedly costs a fortune. Or you buy it ready made, or in strange containers you have to…

Is it Lidl, Iceland or are the more usual supermarkets like Tesco/Sainsburys/Morrisons just as good value for money?

When is the best time to visit Lidl for fresh fruit???
Due to drastic budget cuts coz we eventually realised that we were massively overspending so our food spend needs to be as low as possible, so I wondered if anyone could help me with this...? Do they tend to have fresh deliveries everyday? or is it 2/3 times a week? Is it best to go first thing in the morning too?

Can I cook these together?
I've got a piece of beef brisket and 4 lamb shanks and I'm wondering whether it's possible to cook these all together in the same pot? I'd be using virtually the same base ingredients i.e. vegetables, herbs, stock, wine etc and they both need long slow cooking so what do you reckon? Would save on time and washing up if I…
