When is the best time to visit Lidl for fresh fruit???

Due to drastic budget cuts coz we eventually realised that we were massively overspending so our food spend needs to be as low as possible, so I wondered if anyone could help me with this...?

Do they tend to have fresh deliveries everyday? or is it 2/3 times a week?

Is it best to go first thing in the morning too?

    Hi there

After listening to my mum grumbling, i wouldnt go on thursday mornings as that is when all the special offers come on and it is chaos (well my mums local one is)
and according to mum they have fruit n veg in every morning..but i wouldnt go to early as it seams that the delivery isnt always first thing....so i would try mid morning-lunch time if you can..much later than that and most of it will be picked over...

lidl is best mon-wed mornings to buy your fruit and veg and best avoided at weekends as things are not as good quality as what i have found at the start of the week.

mornings are better as none of there fruit/veg is in any way refrigerated (apart from bagged salads)

i can buy fruit/veg on a mon or tuesday and it still be ok by the weekend, yet if i buy things at the weekend i find its turning by monday latest and a bagt of spuds will be going rottern in the bag if bought on a sunday

  • Why not ask the staff when their deliveries arrive? Polite questions rarely come amiss.

Our local Lidls has deliveries twice a day. If we go, its normally after dropping DD to school at 8am as it is always quiet and alot more choice of fruit/veg/salad.

I go early to ours ,also I always lift the boxes to get the freshest from underneath, going early you can often see it being put out ,so can pick the best ,its saved us a pretty penny lately.

Thank you everyone. I usually avoid Lidl fruit and veg, because it never lasts very long. But maybe it's because I'm going on the wrong day/time.

I have had the same problem. Tried getting Lidl fruit and veg a few times and it has let me down every time. I have always gone in the afternoon after work so about 3-4pm.

I will try it again, went the other day and got a few bits but not fruit and veg. Its up to 70% off at the moment on selected fruit and veg at my nearest store (Manchester).

The obvious answer staring you in the face is sometimes the hardest to see :o:o:o:D

I don't shop at Lidl at the minute so I wanted a few pointers before I went for the first time coz I didn't want a wasted journey :D
