more sausages
Does anyone make their own sausages/sausage meat? I am fed up of buying sausages that either have no meat in them or are full of gristly bits. Even the most expensive ones are not a patch on sausages of yesteryear, so I thought I would have a go at making them myself. Googling produces lots of sausage recipes but not to…

How to stop the milkman - I am a complete chicken
Getting the milk from the milkman is so expensive, that I am going to have to start buying from the supermarket again. Out of principle I went with the milkman as I didn't want to see a good service for many housebound people stop and I also like the service. But being overdrawn each month lately has started to make me…

what's best chicken wings or thighs?
I am thinking about doing a southern/cajun bake thingy and wondered what people find better - wings or thighs? I know thighs are okay for stuffing but I was thinking of making up some cajun type sauce and oven baking? I always tend to avoid chicken wings when I go out as they are sooo fiddly but saw Nigel Slater messing…

How long can you make things last?
This probably is not a record on this forum but I managed to make my 1litre bottle of fairy liquid last 7 months, by using one drop at a time or for very greasy grill pan a good swirl around. I admit I have a dishwasher but I wash my pots and pans, chopping boards and previously baby bottles by hand. I also bought a big…

Smelly football shirt
DH's fave bright yellow (no accounting for taste) football shirt is minging. It's washed as soon as he takes it off (well, when he comes home) and then dried but it still smells. I have tried soaking it in epsom salts but the smell is still there. I seem to remember that we had this happen before and then it just went.…

What cleaning product could/should I use
Im selling two of our pushchairs since my kids are old enough to walk now and we need the space. Slow Recipes
This month's free Waitrose mag [Seasons] has a whole crop of recipes for slow cooking [in the oven] but I think they'd adapt very well to the slow cooker. OH and I are adapting the sausage and apple gravy one next week. Aril
