Discoloured White Plastic Microwave Saucepan

Hi all

I did a search on this but didnt find a solution so hopefully someone can tell me what to do :)

A couple of weeks ago I bought a white plastic microwave saucepan, I only used it once to heat up some beans and sausages and when I went to clean it I couldnt get rid of the orange colour from the beans no matter how much I cleaned it. I thought oh well I must have done something wrong but when I used it again to heat up some beans the orange colour has gotten even worse and it just wont come off.

Can anyone suggest a way to get rid of this staining please? My mum recommended bleach but I though this was a bit drastic and didnt really want bleach anywhere near something I am going to eat from. Is this my best option or is there a more OS/healthier option of cleaning?

Thanks

I really dont think it will clean - tomato sauce things leave every plastic tub/bowl etc orange and it really is just a look thing as its clean as you will get it.

Ok thanks guys, wish i'd known about the orange staining before i used it, would probably have used something else. I know its only a cosmetic thing but to me it just doesnt seem clean unless its white, is that daft? :)

There are loads of threads on this subject, if you search you'll find lots of tips which work. My own tried and tested one is to soak in Milton baby sterilising liquid overnight, then wash as normal.
