DH's fave bright yellow (no accounting for taste) football shirt is minging. It's washed as soon as he takes it off (well, when he comes home) and then dried but it still smells. I have tried soaking it in epsom salts but the smell is still there. I seem to remember that we had this happen before and then it just went. Washing is Makro biological powder with a vanish tablet as well. Any ideas? I was thinking of washing it again on its own or soaking it with a denture tablet. Any ideas anyone??

TCP?
I assume you mean it stinks of sweat? I have this problem with a lot of our cycling/running kit as the man-made technical fabrics make it easy for the bacteria to cling (unlike merino wool). My kit isn't too bad but some of the SOs kit can be vile - about six months ago he washed a load of kit in TCP which helped loads - was a bit of TCP smell for a while but better than the alternative.0 -
Have you tried Oxyclean powder (or the pound shop equivalent)?CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Soak it in a solution of white vinegar and water and then wash it again and dry in the open air."This site is addictive!"

I have soaked it in epsom salts and put it in the shower to dry with the bathroom window wide open. As soon as it is damp I plan to re-wash it on the "flash clean" cycle by itself and add some white vinegar to the rinse. I will not be defeatedBut I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene.
