Wooden window/door painting
Hi! I need my windows and doors (external) painting - end terraced house. Never had a quote for this before. There are seven windows (3 downstairs are largish) and 2 doors. There is a bay roof, so not safe to attempt ourselves! I am in Manchester. Any ideas of quote range? Cheers

Heating & plumbing quote
We have a large 1920s 6 bedroomed house over 3 floors. The heating system is 15 years old and does not cope with the size of the property. The previous owners added an extension with no change to the boiler - so its under powered. We have been quoted for: Fitting a Valliaint Ecotec 637 Condenser boiler with 250L Stelflow…

Any additional light will cost £60 each - wait for it - PLUS the cost of the light fittings…

3 aluminium replacement windows
We had all of the windows in our house replaced last year, with the exception of the three kitchen ones. (We weren't sure what we were doing with the room at the time.) The other windows are Andersens. I love the fact that they're wood inside and low-maintenance uPVC-wrapped outside, and that they have a very slim profile,…

Relining of drain
Hi THe drain that we and our neighbour share has been blocked and backed up with not very nice stuff! We tried unblocking it ourselves, but to no avail and we ended up getting someone in to sort it. There are roots in the drain and it is causing it to block up. To fix it, the drain would need relining. The quote he gave…

HI, I've just been given a quote from a kitchen fitter for a Howdens Burford Cream kitchen with Laminate beech-block effect tops. Hi, We have been given a quote for some wood floors to be fitted for a major part of our downstairs. We went to a local shop, and happy to pay a little bit extra for this, however I was gobsmacked by the fitting and additional costs. New fuse box
A house I'm selling does not have a 17th edition compliance distribution board. The buyers have been quoted £478 + VAT for a "full RCD, not split & mains tails undersized". Kitchen fitting
We have had a quote to take out our old kitchen, level the floor (which has a big slope in it) and fit the new kitchen including laying the floor (not including cost of whatever floor we choose). This also doesn't include electrics which will be a separate quote. It has come out at £1880. Any advice would be appreciated.
