Heating & plumbing quote

We have a large 1920s 6 bedroomed house over 3 floors. The heating system is 15 years old and does not cope with the size of the property. The previous owners added an extension with no change to the boiler - so its under powered.
We have been quoted for:
Fitting a Valliaint Ecotec 637 Condenser boiler with 250L Stelflow Pressurised tank. Along with a circulating pump for the hot water.
Remove the current boiler, airing cupboard tank and attic tanks & intall the new boiler and tank in the cellar and pressurises the whole system, along with snorkels etc.Remove hot water piping from an Aga - so it no longer heats hot water. Wire in 3 thermostats with digital remotes - the pipe work already exists. Remove one radiator and replace with 2 smaller radiators on different walls. Pipe hot water into a downstairs cloakroom from bathroom above. Plumb in an outside tap & remove an old outside toliet. Along with sentinel system clean and magnaclean filter.
This comes to £6K total - of which £3K is labour (6-7 days) in Derbyshire. We are waiting for further quotes but this is our preferred company - as friends have had work done by them. The only sticking point is £30 charge for each thermostatic radiator valve on top of this - which seems alot.

It will depend on which make of TRV they are intending to fit and whether they are replacing just the TRV or the lockshield as well.
It doesn't sound unreasonable to me if replacing both, or fitting an expensive valve such as a Drayton. Note though that TRV's should be charged to you at 5% VAT and not 17.5%, as should all the new heating controls and zone valves etc.
Has the installer checked that all the rads are the correct size for each room?0 -
There are a further 2 radiator changes which I had forgotten to add.
I'm not sure which TRV's he is thinking about - but lockshields are being replaced.
The fitter is also wandering whether 2 install 2 boilers in series as he thinks the 637 may not meet demands in the future. We intend to convert the attic & install a shower room and add an ensuite to the main bedroom.0
