Aluminium Windows

Dull subject, I know, but I'd be grateful for some advice on replacement windows. Just been quoted £15,161 for the following on our 3 bed detached house in Bromley, Kent:
- Replacing 9 existing timber frames with leaded casement aluminium windows, with safety glass used throughout (windows are all quite low)
- Composite front door with side panels
- Aluminium rear door
Does that sound reasonable? Any comments would be much appreciated.

aluminium should only be 25/50 % dearer than upvc.
you are being ripped off.Get some gorm.0 -
I neglected to mention that the quote includes french doors along with a couple of 'boards' (internal ledges). The other windows are all quite large, too. Still too much?0

I have been doing some serious research on this topic as I am planning on replacing all our crittall windows with aluminium. I have now almost decided on two companies. www.duration.co.uk
www.staraluminium.co.uk
I have had two very competitive quotes from both. Duration only supply and are the actual manufacturers. Star are also manufacturers but can fit as well as supply.
With duration what I did was to draw the windows roughly together with their dimensions and email it to them. They came back with a very detailed and comprehensive quote for each individual window. Star Aluminium came out and measured up and infact just gave me their quote yesterday.
All I am waiting for is to find a good window fitter and then I will be placing an order. So if there are any good recommendations out there I would be very interested. I live in Northwest Kent.-Keep your eyes to the sunshine and you would not see the shadows-
