British gas
I moved to British Gas last October because they were the best deal on the comparison site. Gas and electricity usage went up at home because of Covid and working from home. I have recently renewed with Pure energy and I am now facing a £328 bill from British Gas but what I can't understand is why they didn't increase my…

British Gas meter difficulty
Hi, I’m new to the forum and have a problem with British Gas. A tenant has just left a property I own. Unknown to me they had a prepayment meter fitted and I’m trying to get British Gas, the supplier to change it back to a credit meter. Having made several calls to them, and them saying the property doesn’t exist, they…

EON complaints
So having being turned down for credit I paid to get my score from Experian. (knowing I had paid all my bills on time etc) Experian is showing I have 5 EON accounts, all for the same amount owed - £179 all opened on the same day Nov 2017, all my name, address and DOB. I contacted EON and explained - computer said No, no…

tonik energy now SP switch?
So this is the first I heard about tonik energy when I got the email yesterday from SP. This has happened twice to me now in 2 years, and the last time was an absolute farce to say the least. So my question is, can I swap suppliers whilst I'm going through this change or do I have to wait a certain period before I start a…

SMETS2 in new build flat
My daughter just moved into a new build 70 flat 4 story development and I was surprised to find a SMETS2 meter outside her 3rd floor flat and a similar gas meter on the ground floor. However the gas led on the electric meter comms hub is not flashing and there is no in home display. Am I right in presuming that they have…

i have had no gas or electric bill for 5 years
I moved into a newbuild in Dec 2015 and was told SSE were responsible for gas, electric and water. Every quarter I got a bill and paid it. Suddenly last month i got a bill from British gas for £8700 for 5 years of gas and electric. I rang sse who confirmed I had only been paying for water with them (didn't realise water…

Eon forcing bill payment on line
You may be aware that EON are moving all it's customers online to apparently save the environment. I would like to know, can they legally do this? Is it reasonable to expect all their customers to be online?

EON stopped electricity switch for 18 months
Hi All, sorry for the rant and please ignore if this is too much detail but I am at the end of my tether as we have been trying to leave EON and switch to a competitor company for over 18 months and every time EON have stopped the switch. After some telephone calls the issue seemed to be that there was a non functioning…

Igloo Energy - 3% Interest on Positive Balances
I just noticed that our account with Igloo energy pays 3% on positive balances. Previously, we just paid by regular direct debit and did not take much notice. Given the low interest rates available on savings account, we have made just 2 additional payments into this account of £500 total, which have been accepted. I guess…

Scottish Power - new meter
Hello i was due to have a new meter fitted by Scottish power on 1st October, they cancelled 2 days before and couldn’t tell me when I could rebook. Their reason was my postcode is in a Covid restricted area. It’s not. After 3 emails back and forth I phoned and the lady on the phone told me that there was a 3-6 month delay…

Trusting emails?
Hi all, I’m with Tonik for my energy and found out, by an email reportedly from Scottish Power, that it’s no longer trading. I checked and this is correct. However the email is asking me to click links to give my details including direct debit information. Surely they have all this? I get so many phishing emails these days…

Do I switch on the combi boiler (about 5 years old) and heat the whole house (4 bed semi) for a short period of time or use a small fan heater for a short blast…

How soon can us Tonik customers move away from Scottish Power?
Probably something many of us want to do i would imagine? I see no mention of it here and i contacted Scottish Power directly over 2 things - Tonik messing up my bill but also asking when i can move on. They gave me the politicians 'answer'. "Rest assured your energy supply will continue" ... yeah i didn't ask about that.…

Payment to old supplier after switching
I switched from Avroenergy to EDF in April this year and after 5 months Avro have emailed asking for £181 to settle final bill. Can I challenge this as it took so long and there was never any communication to say I would get a final bill which I thought would be reconciled on switching anyway? Any ideas welcome.
